Especially considering the cost and how the hotel presents itself as excellent, the overall experience was underwhelming to say the least. The room did not feel very clean, some areas had dust. It was filled with the Aalto furniture I'd always dreamed of, and even had Marimekko-patterned cushions. It was so beautiful, I could almost imagine living in a room like that. I really enjoyed my stay at Hotel Helka. The hotel is comfortable and thoughtfully designed, so it felt a bit like having a home in Helsinki. The location is great — right across from the Helsinki Art Museum and just a short walk to the lively Kamppi area. The room had everything I needed, and the staff were kind and welcoming. It all gave me a very relaxed and easy feeling during my trip.

Breakfast offerred varied selection. The desk staff was extremely helpful. Our room needs were a bit different from other guests because we needed to modify the heavy bed covers and the housekeeping staff was helpful with our use of sheets & towels.

I arrived early, so I just left my luggage at the hotel before my friend treated me to breakfast there. Then we went sightseeing. The breakfast buffet was excellent, offering a wide variety of food, including some Finnish specialities. So beautiful, beyond expectations! Seriously, it's gorgeous. High ceilings and a great view, definitely worth the price.

The Studio room was very clean and has kitchen. Very convenient to stay.

The location was great for taking an early ferry to Tallin. The studio was spacious and clean, and the kitchen has utensils to cook. They even have a Finnish sauna!

This is an incredible place. From the location of the hotel you can understand how incredible the nature of Finland is. Beautiful location, excellent design in the interior parts of the building and a nice sauna near the beach. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful with lots of choices. Of course as it is an old hotel the rooms are somewhat old-dated but I guess it didn’t matter especially with the nice sea view.

We had a wonderful stay at this independent hotel. Staff is very helpful and welcoming. Room was charming and spacious enough. It's a perfect option if you want to stay in the center of Helsinki. The toilet and shower are perfectly clean and it was not trouble to share them. The reception is eficient and they are tight to its schedule. We stayed there one night and everything went smoothly.

Nice hotel near Helsinki Train Station, a lot of shopping nearby and most important is they got friendly and helpful reception. The con is you have to carry own luggage to second floor, they have no lift, although the kind young lady in reception offer to help me lift the luggage to second floor. Better no big and heavy luggage if you choose this hotel.
