Hôtel La Tarentaise in Meribel

Amazing Location, Ski In and Out! Dinners with Half Board are pretty good. Breakfast buffet needs some better choices but is acceptable. Very clean rooms, lobby, dining area, bar area. The best part of the Hotel are the wonderful staff members, including Adomo at the reception. He helped me get started with laundry from my previous week in Meribel Mottaret. Unfortunately, both of the dryers are out of commission, so I had to hang dry my clothing in the laundry room. Adomo is very helpful and was able to answer any questions during my stay, even using Google Translate or "ask a colleague". Anna in the dining room speaks perfect English and is very attentive and extremely personable. She knows the menu well. Coca does it all, in the bar, breakfast, dinner. It seems like the 3 of them never leave the hotel. My son came down with a GI bug for 3 days during our stay. The staff went out of their way to accomodate our requests, including preparing his dinner on a tray for me to take to the room. Be aware that there is no elevator in the hotel, but our 3 floor walkup was good exercise in preparation for the slopes. This hotel is located right next to a piste that feeds into the main area of Meribel Mottaret, with access to the Gondola and multiple lifts that will take you to any area in Tres Valles. In the afternoon, ski back to the hotel via the Combes lift. There is a ski locker room, which has a lock that is seldom used, so beware. We had no issue with our snowboards or boots left in there, though, and we locked the door behind us. You access the hotel via the Chalet gondola and then a 3 minute walk if you are coming up from Meribel Mottaret. There is a grocery in Meribel Mottaret and a 2nd grocery in Le Hameau, a 3 minute walk. At night, it is very quiet outside the room. We left the window open to cool down the room. The room itself is more than adequate. The fake hardwood floors were not installed correctly and shuffle over each other. The TV is fine, except there are no English channels. Bring a Fire Stick and use a VPN to access USA versions of your streaming Apps. The WiFi is strong enough. The bathroom has a Tub/Shower combo and sink in 1 room and a separate room just with a toilet. There is an armoire but no other storage, so we lived out of our luggage primarily.

That was awesome. This is hotel with character. Very devoted team that do everything in a very friendly and positive way. Great location (for ski, not for night life) and lots of things going on in the hotel. Good breakfast, lively bar and decent restaurant for dinner. Excellent access to the ski slopes (ski in) and great ski slopes view from the room. The service is not really professional, service is slow at the restaurant, strange adventures with the stuff while staying there, but this is part of the magic.

Nice cozy hotel with very social bar and games area. Lovely log fire adds to the atmosphere. Hotel is perfectly located on the ski slopes for skiing to and from the door. Rooms are nice and clean, even better if you are lucky enough to get a balcony and view of the piste. The staff are all very friendly and helpful at all times. There are no TV's in the room but this is not what you are here for anyway!

Views are amazing, right next to the slopes, staff were great. Food was really good, lots of choice and good quality. Hotel decor isn't that good but not bad and it was clean. Didn't like the WiFi setup, found a few people frustrated with it, not recconnceting. TV's in the rooms would be good.
