Hotel L'Europe Colmar, BW Signature Collection in Colmar

The good points: the staff were polite and the hotel was generally clean
The bad points: The hotel was mid-renovation which was not made clear at booking. Only after I had paid (non-refundable) I got an email saying they restaurant and leisure facilities were closed. When I arrived there was bare concrete on the floor and confusing signage to the rooms (the signs were on the floor and not pointing the right way for the room numbers!)
Apart from that, the whole hotel was very hot. I had to open my window in the room but the cleaner always closed it so it was hot again when I got back. It was uncomfortable for sleeping and the air-con was both ineffiecient and VERY noisy. The room was very noisy - not that you could hear guests but there was near constant gurgling and plumbing noises from various other rooms. It woke me in the night several times. There was no voile at the window so if you wanted natural light there was no privacy. The room was very dark. There was a desk lamp and a wall lamp, no main light so I struggled to work in there. Overall I was not impressed and would not book again.
