AMA Hôtel in Biarritz

Lovely boutique hotel right in the centre of Biarritz. Room was very comfortable and quiet.
Staff were very welcoming and friendly, even provided excellent advice on where to visit and eat out.

The hotel has a great location, just a few minutes' walk from the beach and easily accessible by bus from the train station. The owners were very welcoming and lively, recommending many restaurants and places to visit. For an older building, the rooms were well-decorated and clean. I especially loved sitting on the small balcony, drinking tea and watching the street view. Overall, in Biarritz, a place with a strong old-money vibe, I think this hotel is worth every penny and is impeccable.

Sylvie knows Biarritz the way a seasoned bartender knows his regulars: every tide pool, every back alley, every café where the coffee’s strong and the croissants still taste like someone’s grandmother baked them this morning. She’s a guide, a confidante, and a reminder of what hospitality used to mean before loyalty programs and laminated welcome packets. Ama Hotel itself? A quiet, stylish refuge. Sunlight pouring in, salt in the air, that easy Basque rhythm outside your window. You’ll wake up feeling like you actually belong here, like you’ve been folded into some secret society of surfers, chefs, and dreamers. Would I recommend it? Absolutely. In a heartbeat. This is the kind of place you tell your friends about, but maybe not all of them. Some things are better kept just a little secret.

Nice little hotel. It's not staffed between 2pm and 7am, but all the staff we met were very nice.

Great location in the centre of town and handy for everything. Really enjoyed the breakfast, plenty of choice and home made jams were delicious.
Sylvie was so helpful in highlighting all the sights we might want to see as well as restaurants to go to and day trips out of town.

What a wonderful boutique hotel! We only stayed there one night but were extremely pleased with the hotel. The rooms aren’t large, but that was alright since we only needed them for sleep and showers. My room was big enough for my wheelchair.We loved our breakfast which had excellent choices. It even had homemade jams for our bread. We highly recommend this hotel and certainly stay there again.

This was a perfect place for us, for our first trip to Biarritz. I'm quite an exacting guest, but this business knows precisely what it's doing. It came as no surprise that the manager had travelled extensively herself - that's always a very good sign. We had to check in late in the evening: not a problem; the key code got us in, to find a welcoming envelope with our room key, basic details, etc. The room was sweet: a decent wardrobe [good hangers!], kettle and tea/coffee, a little fridge, comfortable bed. The shutters on the windows were a great addition, blocking out the light for a deep sleep. Very good bathroom - well, OK, there was one glitch with the plumbing, but that was more to do with a mad design of taps than anything fundamental. It was a problem sorted quickly and personally. Good breakfast - and excellent value. Being able to open windows - in the bathroom as well as bedroom - was lovely. We had bright light flooding in - reminding us we were not in rainy London! The location is perfect; superb restaurants nearby. It had the feel of a real neighbourhood. The staff were all charming and helpful. We hope the Biarritz tourist board is proud of this little jewel.
