Hotel Astra Opera - Astotel in Paris

I booked the Astotel Astra Hotel in Paris through Trip.com, trusting the platform, so I made the reservation well in advance.

However, when I checked Trip.com's own page again later, I found that for the same hotel and the same check-in dates, the price had significantly dropped, with a difference of 1000-2000 RMB.

Even more importantly, these lower prices weren't from other platforms; they were directly bookable on Trip.com's own page. At that moment, I could have even re-booked the room at the lower price.

This means that customers who booked in advance ended up paying a higher price.

I understand that hotel prices fluctuate due to market conditions, but if the platform offers no price protection mechanism, then booking in advance is essentially taking on all the risk as a user.

What's even more disappointing is that during the communication process, the platform's handling attitude was very perfunctory and they didn't take this issue seriously.

As a long-time user of Trip.com for hotel bookings, this experience was truly disappointing.

I also want to remind other users: when booking hotels on Trip.com, don't assume that booking in advance automatically guarantees a better price. Always compare repeatedly and keep an eye on price changes. Otherwise, you might end up paying more for booking early.

The room facilities and cleanliness were average, but the location was good; it was within walking distance of Galeries Lafayette and Printemps. It was similar to a budget hotel in China, and the staff were quite friendly.
