Omit something in the room , but no staff inform me when I left.

My daughter, granddaughter and I spent 3 nights at Hôtel de France Invalides this week. Hajar who was on reception was extremely welcoming to us. Hajar’s friendliness and helpfulness made us feel very welcome and comfortable. Our room was just right for the three of us and breakfast was full of variety and plentiful. We would definitely stay there again. Fifteen minute walk to the Eiffel Tower and plenty of really good restaurants nearby. Metro only a short distance away too.

Very Disappointing Stay: No Hot Water All Weekend

I stayed at Hotel de France Invalides in November 2025, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience.

From the first night, there was no hot water in the entire hotel. On the morning of November 8, I was told the system would be fixed later that day, but when I returned that evening, I found an official notice posted by the elevator stating that the hot water would be out of service for the entire weekend.

This meant that for all three nights of my stay, there was no way to take a proper shower or even wash with warm water — during cold Paris weather (around 8°C). The hotel offered a free breakfast for one morning, but that is not an adequate solution for such a major problem.

I had booked this as a three-star hotel through Trip.com, and I expected at least basic facilities to be available. The lack of communication and the fact that the issue was not fixed during my entire stay made the experience very uncomfortable.

I hope the management addresses this issue properly and ensures guests are informed in advance if such essential services are not functioning.

This hotel should be 2 stars hotel. First, when we check in our room wasn’t ready until 5, the website states check in is at 3. Then the WiFi never worked and it never connected with the tv. When asked for 2 extra towels we were told they don’t have any, towels are only replace in the morning by house keeping. They only provide with 2 bath towels and 2 hand towels per room. Also, the air conditioner never worked and on the last couple days of our stay the only one elevator broke, and we were on the 6th floor. Overall horrible experience and will not recommend anyone to stay here

Very quiet rooms even though close to the tourist spots. Walking distance to Eifel tower. Very comfy beds. Nice breakfast buffet.

My wife and I had a wonderful stay at Hotel De France! The staff were absolutely amazing — so polite, helpful, and welcoming, both at the reception and in the breakfast area. Their kindness really made a difference and made us feel right at home.

The breakfast was good with a nice variety, although it would be even better if the options changed daily, especially for guests staying multiple days.

Our room was very clean and well-maintained, though it was a bit on the smaller side. However, the hotel’s location is excellent — everything you need is just around the corner, making it very convenient.

Overall, we had a great experience and would definitely stay here again!

I have stayed only one night in the hotel
I arrived early to the hotel but the staff is very nice and allowed me to settle my luggage in the hotel first such that I don’t need to carry a heavy baggage during my traveling.

The location of the hotel is very convenient, just few minutes walk to reach the subway and there is a supermarket nearby. You can even walk to the Eiffel Tower.

Staff is very nice, speak fluent English and helpful. I saw couples of review before booking saying the room is very tiny and dirty but I don’t think so, the toilet is clean and there is even a table and chair for a single room. What I think the only tiny part is the lift but you don’t live in a lift right so it doesn’t really matter. If I come to Paris again, I will stay in this hotel again. I am very satisfied with the price and the service, also the safety.

Would have been 5 stars if we could have cooled the room … only heat & fan available. I said something to the staff and they said they fixed it but nothing changed. For us the nights were cool so we just opened the windows but if a person couldn’t sleep through city sounds or it was summer this wouldn’t have worked.

This is a nice hotel in the 7th Arrondissement near to the Eiffel Tower and Napoleon’s Tomb & Army museum. The hotel room is small but clean and tidy. It served its purpose. It’s convenient for walking and transportation. My mother struggles to walk far, so around the corner on Duquesne we took the 86 bus, which in the direction of Champ de Mars will get you to the Eiffel Tower. On the opposite side and across the street, the 86 bus in the direction of Parc Zoologic will get you towards the St. Germain area and other nice shopping spots.

Of course, consult your Google maps or Rome2Rio for exactly which bus and stop suits your needs. You can take the Metro (subway to us NYers) at École Militaire. For easy pay options, they have the Navigo app where you can by one time use tickets or day passes even up to 48 or 72 hours, possibly longer but I forget. Just pick the zone(s) you plan to be in. You can search Paris train zones online. Most tourist spots will be in the 1 or 2 zones but double check to plan ahead. Otherwise, you can carry coins for the bus or purchase physical Navigo cards or tickets in some Metro stations. Hang on to the tickets until after you exit, you need to validate it after your travel to exit the station you arrive in as well.

The hotel was convenient even though small but clean, and we felt safe which is all I really needed. There were no extras, except for the heated towel rack, which is lovely, but no mini refrigerator to store fancy French butter or treats to have later. If that’s fine with you, then you’re set. I’d venture out of the area for food options, the one downstairs seemed overpriced and around the corner at an Italian restaurant they ask tourists for tip, which aren’t needed in France. Just some food for thought. You can see some of my restaurant reviews online.
