Hôtel Almarine Eiffel by Malone in Paris

We booked a room for two people for two nights. But they gave us a single room for 1.5 days and then moved us to a double room. We stayed in a super tiny room for most of our stay. Rooms are dated and small. The staff is not very helpful. The only good thing about the hotel is the location. It is 5 min from the Eiffel Tower.

The pictures online are Photoshoped and someone has done a very good job, in reality the hotel is like 10% of what the pictures show. Very bad, very dirty! No drinking water, no tissues, no electric kettle and not even a dustbin in the room. There was box of pizza under the bed left by the previous guest. The floor carpet and the sheets were very dirty. The staff is rude, condescending and unhelpful (except for one guy out of the five we interacted with). the only thing good about the place is the location but that alone can't make up for all the things this hotel lacks. I understand in a budget hotel one should not accept many amenities but cleanliness is a basic requirement.

I booked this hotel for my partners birthday, it was all a surprise so I planned it all myself.
Once we arrived at the hotel, I realised it was nothing like the photos that are advertised on their website. We left our luggage in the hallway of the hotel and came back later for the keys to our room.
There was a decorator in the main walkway and the stairs were out of bounds (which the receptionist did not inform us about)
We got into the room & it slowly just got from bad to worse.
The room was tiny, not like the photos advertised, it smelt of cigarette smoke & the bathroom was tiny! just as we were about to go to sleep the bed broke.. and by broke I mean the leg broke on the bed which meant one of us was sleeping at an angle. It was late at this point so we waited until the morning.
Once we complained a room upgrade and an apology was given, the room we upgraded to was what I expected in the first place so we were very happy by this.
The location was amazing so if it wasn’t for this I definitely wouldn’t recommend this hotel. The courtyard that is pictured so beautifully does not look like that at all, it looked messy & dirty and almost like a storage place.
We only stayed 2 nights, like I said the location was perfect and once we moved rooms we were much happier.
