We were delighted with our arrival. Benoit, the valet, was exceptionally kind. A big thank you to Benoit. Maeva, the receptionist, is very loving, attentive, and considerate of our guests. I was truly very, very happy with my stay. I was a little disappointed that I had a room on the ground floor with a small garden. My mother also had her own garden, but she didn't have one. Her window had a bad view of the street noise. What's intriguing is that the room was the same price as mine, so it doesn't make much sense. But the breakfast in the morning is really worth it for 15 €! We ate in the hotel restaurant. We were served very well, quickly and efficiently. Many people walked between tables to pick up things they no longer needed, such as a small decanter, a plate, a glass, a bottle. Many people came and went between tables. Too bad, there was no smile. Thank you all.

This hotel was exactly what I wanted : a bit old-fashioned but elegant. Breakfast was great, and the lady on duty offered alternatives for dietary restrictions.

Only problem: the bath wasn't working, and I had really been looking forward to it after a very wet and windy day.

It's a very beautiful place. The atmosphere and style of the hotel are amazing. The breakfast was tasty and the staff were friendly. It was a very good experience, I absolutely recommend it.

First of all, my husband & I fell in love with Carcassonne, this hotel, and the staff (Jean, Stephen and Tiffany) who were friendly and helpful. We were excited to be staying inside the castle walls. The room was clean, spacious, quiet, and facing the castle walls. The inside of the hotel had an Old World feeling, warm, and decorated for Christmas. In short, it was lovely!

We took a taxi from the train station. The driver said it was forbidden for him to enter the city walls so he dropped us off at a parking lot where he instructed us to push a call button for the hotel driver to get us. Sure enough in a few minutes a driver picked us up (free ride).

We did not receive advice that the the hotel cannot be accessed by car, so Satnav is not helpful. It was almost 9pm when we left the airport 11minutes away by car, but we did not arrive until 90 minutes, within the traffic-free old city. Phone calls to the hotel (separate phones, several occasions) connected us to a Tesla Charging number(we had a VW hire car|) or an Agent Immobilier. By asking local people on the street and in a restaurant, we eventually arrived at a secure hotel carpark with electronic code access, a young man appeared as he was locking up for the night. He told us we were lucky to find him there. We parked and were transported by him via a circuitous and improbable route through the fortifications. Why were we not given directions to this car park and why was this system not explained to us? Diabolical!

It was okay. Nice check in. The bar was terrible and some of te staff was very unexperienced. The lobby was quite worn out, and so was the rest of the hotel as well. But it was clean and everything worked well. The room was not as nice as the pictures, but it was okay. We did not like that the wc and bathroom was two different rooms. Then it was s little bit problems when booking their restaurant via the web page. We got the confirmation from anorher restaurant!

Stayed here for 5 nights and had 3 rooms for a family vacation. One room was a suite, which we did not get upon check in. When asking the front desk about not having the suite we were told the room "did not exist" even though we showed pictures of the suite and confirmation from Booking.com. We were then told we were being aggressive and disrespectful. However, once the manager started her shift, the suite miraculously existed and we were moved into it. Staff unfriendliness is what we will remember most about our stay here, including breakfast staff who wouldn't let us take a cup of coffee up to our room. The 2 regular rooms we booked had toilet closets that were not part of the shower//bath and one room had a mini fridge that did not work (which was not fixed), broken ceiling tiles and a shower nozzle that would not stay in its holder. Also no fans so the entire room fogged up when taking a shower. Little things and big things made us very happy to check out. Location saves this property. And the restaurant (off property) was quite good. Otherwise a big disappointment.

Our short stay in Carcassonne was extremely pleasant and comfortable at Hôtel Le Donjon. The parking arrangements are very convenient, the rooms comfortable and the staff very friendly. Our only issue was the shower didn't have a screen attached that actually stopped the water from going all over the floor. A minor detail that could be easily fixed. Apart from that I would definitely book Hôtel Le Donjon again.
