La Bastide de l'Oliveraie in Cannes

This is a lovely little hotel in Cannes, with a rooftop jacuzzi that provides great views at night!

The good:
The rooms come with a small kitchenette which helps if you’re staying for a longer period and don’t want to eat in restaurants as much. The views are stunning and it’s relatively quiet. There’s also a lounge area that’s great for taking work calls.

Needs improvement:
The rooms are a little bit worn, I do have a particular thing about bathroom cleanliness but there were spots of mould in the shower and it needed a makeover. I think most of the rooms do. I’ve stayed here a few times and in one room the fridge didn’t work well which wasn’t ideal for cooking. The kitchenette is worn but it’s okay for what it is. The WiFi isn’t great, spotty and not ideal if you’re trying to work or video call a friend.

The bad:
The service isn’t great, I speak B1/B2 French but my partner speaks English and was treated differently as a result. They didn’t understand simple requests such as asking for facilities and their bar offerings aren’t made well - see my partner being served wine from an open bottle and my non alcoholic cocktail made with sparkling water that was already open! The hairdryers are very poor for a 4* hotel. It takes too long to dry your hair as you have to hold the button down and then have to wait for a few minutes when it overheats.

Overall this hotel is okay for Cannes, a touch overpriced but with a refresh I think it could really stand out.

Cute cat. Front desk is very hit or miss. It is supposedly 24 hours but when we checked in late it took a long time to find someone. They are stingy with room towels and soaps. I
