Hôtel West End Hotel in Nice

We stayed at Hotel West End in Nice for three nights, and unfortunately, the experience did not live up to expectations. While the location is undeniably excellent—right on the Promenade des Anglais with a beautiful ocean view (which we paid extra for)—the room itself was far from comfortable.

The room had only one electrical outlet, and none in the bathroom, which made charging devices and using appliances inconvenient. The mattress was old, soft, and sagging, offering little support and poor sleep quality. Basic amenities were lacking: no face cloths were provided, and housekeeping failed to replenish the morning coffee supplies during our stay.

The bathroom design was particularly problematic. The shower only had a partial glass partition, which caused water to spill onto the floor every time we used it. The tub was extremely slippery with no grab handle, making it genuinely hazardous to get in and out safely.

Overall, the hotel’s charm ends at its location. For the price and the reputation, we expected far better. We won’t be returning.

We recently stayed here hoping for a relaxing time by the beach with my fiancé and
my mom. While the location and breakfast were truly beautiful and the beachfront view is undeniably the highlight, our experience left a lot to be desired. Especially when it came to basic comfort and safety.

Unfortunately, the lock on our room door didn’t work properly, which made us uneasy. We had to change rooms just so my mom could feel safe (meaning we didn’t get new rooms. My mom switch rooms with my fiancé and I). Not exactly the peace of mind you expect on vacation. The new room wasn’t much better: it lacked soundproofing, the air conditioning was very weak, and there were visible stains around the bathroom sink. Even trying to watch TV was a challenge: the nextflix didn’t work, and it said something about it not connecting to a network. There were major cracks on the ground. The balcony was dirty, with spiders, and not cleaned for the duration of our time staying there. Too many bugs to open the window.

This place has potential. The beach is right there, and the breakfast was excellent. But safety, and cleanliness, especially when you’re paying for more than just the view.

I truly hope management sees this feedback as a chance to raise the standard and deliver the kind of experience the location deserves.
