Holiday Inn Express NICE - GRAND ARENAS by IHG in Nice

The hotel is about a 7-8 minute walk from Terminal 1 of the airport, which is very convenient for catching flights. There's also a train station right across from the hotel, making it easy to get to Cannes or Monaco.

Very easy to access from the airport and nice breakfast!

Straight forward.
10 minutes to airport( terminal 2) via the free tram
Ideal for any length of time.
We arrived late so needed somewhere close by.
The welcoming is straight forward.
The room has a spacious, beds very comfortable , shower room very clean ,spacious and beautiful towels.
Breakfast is nice a nice selection of bread croissants etc. Fresh fruit salad ,yogurt scrambled eggs and chicken sausage.
Coffee not to my taste but all good.

Nice and clean hotel for a short stay

Excellent value for money during the off-season.
1. Superb location!!
Airport transport and tram: Take the L1 from the airport one stop to Grand Arenas, which is free, then it's a 5-minute walk to the hotel. Alternatively, you can walk directly from the airport in just 10 minutes.
TER: With the Nice 3-day pass, Saint Augustin station is right across the street. If you're heading towards Menton, you can board one stop before the busy Nice train station, and there's no need to wait.
BUS: If you're exploring the Nice coastline and don't want to walk too far to catch the tram, bus route 12+ (and others) are available near the coast, providing direct access to T1, also within a 5-minute walk.
2. Breakfast starts at 6:30 AM. Very quiet, no airplane noise.

Great location very close to the airport and connected by free tramway to Grand Arenas. Wonderful multilingual staff and right next to Saint Augustin train station (direct connection to Monaco, Cannes etc). The room had adequate facilities and decent breakfast spread.

Inefficient check-in and poor selection on breakfast but perfect location

I checked into the hotel well after 3 o’clock, yet the process still took around 10 minutes due to a quoted lack of available rooms, even though it was quite late in the day. We were also asked for our passports, which was the first time in France that we had all been asked for passports at check-in. I understand this is a regulation, but having stayed in many hotels in France before, we had never been asked. Not a major problem as we had our passports with us.

The breakfast selection was quite poor, but if you’re only staying one or two nights it’s manageable as you can still find something to eat. This isn’t the kind of hotel you’d stay in for an extended holiday — it’s very much an event or airport-style property.

The best part about the hotel is its location: just a two-minute walk from Nice-Saint-Augustin station, which connects you to most local attractions; five minutes’ walk to Terminal 1, and about 20 minutes’ walk to Terminal 2 of Nice Airport. The surrounding area has been developed recently and is very pleasant. The hotel doesn’t have a designated car park, but there are public car parks nearby — however, prices are high, around €20 per day.

The hotel follows a French government regulation on air conditioning, keeping it between 21–22°C. This was fine for us, but it was the first time we’d encountered such a rule in France.

The property was clean. The first staff member we encountered seemed unfriendly, but the second person who helped us was very friendly and left us with a good impression. The price felt high, but compared to other locations it was reasonable for the area, which is generally cheap.

All in all, I would recommend this hotel, as there’s probably not much difference in value or service compared to other options nearby.
