Communal Hotel in Telavi

The room was as cute as the pictures indicated. Unfortunately, there were two problems with our stay. First, out bathroom smelled terrible - like a sewer. After a shower it smelled better, but an hour later it smelled terrible again. But much, much worse than that was the noise. The balcony was effectively unusable. Between the loud and near constant hum of the A/C unit, the smell of exhaust from cars going by on the narrow, fairly busy street, and the incessant barking of dogs, sitting on the balcony was an altogether unpleasant activity. Still, I reasoned, dogs have to sleep just like the rest of us... Not so, it turns out. We were kept awake nearly the entire night by barking dogs (and more than one driver who thoughtlessly drove down the street after midnight with the radio blaring). Three street dogs live on the street directly in front of the hotel, and another pack was down about a block, and they set each other off all night long. I think I finally managed to drift off around 2am, but was awoken at 6am by... barking dogs. Please note that we are animal lovers and that I travel with a white noise machine, but even with the machine on the loudest setting, I couldn't even begin to drown out these dogs. I felt like Elaine on Seinfeld. Perhaps a room at Communal Telavi that is NOT facing the main street would be ok (bathroom smell notwithstanding), but I do not recommend a balcony room.

First of all, what I pay most attention to is cleanliness, which was very disturbing. Dirty floor, mini bar, stained, stained sheets, torn towels, very dirty bathroom shower. You may be wondering why I didn't report this to the front desk immediately, even though no one was there at any time of the day. During check-in, I was only informed that I could buy breakfast on the spot. I also had to call to find out about the WiFi password, because I never saw anyone there. In addition, both nights in the middle of the night, very annoying noises were heard from the upper floor in the room, I don't know if it was a mouse or what, I was too scared to go up and couldn't explain it. If I was alone, it would be very uncomfortable because I would be more scared because of strange noises in the middle of the night. In addition, I would like to add a word or two about the service, I don't know how standard this is for you, but for a brand whose one of the hotels is among the 100 leading hotels in the world, it is very, very inconvenient not to have lemon and lime in the bar. And you already had a small selection of desserts and three out of four were not available, so I asked for a fruit board and that was not available either, very very embarrassing in my opinion. This was my first experience in a small design hotel and I'm very disappointed. I was preparing for this stay for a very long time and I was very disappointed, I really did not expect such conditions and careless staff.
