White House Mini-Hotel in Tbilisi

In all my visits over the past three years, this is the worst hotel in Tbilisi. My wife and I arrived at night and were greeted by a guy at the reception desk. We paid cash, and the guy immediately offered to cancel the hotel to get a 50 lari discount. We did so. When I entered the room, I was shocked: the shower was broken, the handles on the shower door were broken, and the mattress was very thin and hard, making it impossible to sleep on. My wife and I went to breakfast this morning and arrived half an hour before the end of the breakfast period. There was almost no food. A couple of pieces of inedible sausage, tomatoes, buckwheat, and some eggs. All the food was cold. We asked the chef where a full breakfast was, to which we were told we were late. I remained silent and decided to come back the next day at the very beginning of breakfast and see what this hotel has to offer. My wife and I decided to leave the hotel because the service was terrible and all the staff were mean and unfriendly! Even when they changed the towels, they brought dirty ones! The reception desk refused to give us a refund! We tried to get through to the hotel owner for four hours, but he finally told us he wouldn't give us our money. I called the police! It turned out that this hotel had no documents, license, etc. The police spent another 3 hours dealing with the owner. This man refused to give up the money and ended up giving only 50%. They drew up a report for a refund. That's how we spent December 31st. They got on our nerves and we were left in shock from this hotel, the people, and the owner of this almshouse.

Unfortunately, during our 4-night stay at this hotel, we experienced several distressing incidents that left us with lasting disappointment. I truly wish I could highlight at least one positive aspect to reassure future guests of a pleasant stay, but the reality my friend and I faced was entirely the opposite.

The most disturbing incident happened when we returned to our room one evening and discovered that someone had entered without our permission, and without any prior notice or explanation from the hotel. The floor had been left soaking wet, the toilet had clearly been used and not cleaned, and both of our suitcases had been disturbed. My own suitcase, which I had left unzipped, had been moved in such a way that all my belongings had spilled across the floor. Even more upsetting, my friend’s suitcase—although fully zipped—had somehow gotten wet inside, leaving her clothes damp.

The shock of finding our room in this condition, after it had been accessed without consent, was overwhelming. Even days later, recalling it still leaves us unsettled and distressed. Such a breach of privacy and disregard for basic standards of respect and cleanliness is completely unacceptable in any hotel.

I had a very disappointing experience at this hotel. The service was extremely poor, during my 6 days stay, housekeeping only came once to clean the room. No one followed up, and I had to manage without basic cleaning and fresh towels for the rest of my stay. For the price and expectations, this level of service is unacceptable. I would not recommend this hotel and will not stay here again.

Unfortunately, my experience was highly disappointing and did not reflect the standards advertised.

1. Lack of Amenities: The room did not have even the most basic amenities such as bottled water or proper room cleaning. Despite multiple requests over four consecutive days, housekeeping was ignored.

2. Unprofessional Check-in Experience: Upon arrival, the receptionist asked us to cancel our booking on Booking.com under the pretext of "free cancellation." Once we did so, we were treated as though we did not exist, and our concerns were disregarded.

3. Poor Service and Attitude: Staff members showed no initiative, courtesy, or willingness to assist. The breakfast was of extremely poor quality, and staff did not even greet guests with a smile or check if we needed anything.

This overall experience was very disappointing and falls well below expectations for a guest stay. I kindly request Booking.com / the hotel to review this matter seriously and provide an appropriate resolution.
