Envoy Hostel in Tbilisi

The rooftop terrace is by far the highlight of this hostel — it offers a stunning panoramic view over Tbilisi and is a great place to meet other solo travellers in the evenings. The location is excellent too, right in the heart of Old Tbilisi and within walking distance of major sights, cafés, and sulphur baths.

Overall, Envoy was the best of the three hostels I stayed at in Tbilisi (compared to Fabrika and Elia Boutique), mainly thanks to the social vibe and unbeatable terrace. If you’re a solo traveller looking for a central, sociable spot with a great view, Envoy is a solid choice — just don’t expect luxury or too much flexibility.

What I didn’t like is that the mattresses were quite thin and uncomfortable, and the blanket provided wasn’t warm enough — I found myself feeling cold at night, even in early autumn. The staff are a mixed bag. Some nicer/more helpful than others. It was disappointing they wouldn’t accommodate an early check-in despite empty beds available. It seems like they couldn’t be bothered. I would say considering what you could get it’s priced on the higher side so not the best value for money.

really nice hostel in Tbilisi. very friendly for solo travellers. cheap, clean, and friendly staff. the rooftop is a great place to meet people. strongly recommend. only downside is that its up a pretty steep hill 🫶

Good hostel that has spacious rooms. The terrace was very nice to chill and the check in and out was smooth.

Downside - there are only 1 shower and 1 toilet to be shared among the floor and there is a very steep climb up from the city.

Stayed here mid June. The girl on reception was lovely, (I think it was her first or second day), and gave a full tour of the building. Very communal and friendly and helpful. Was a solo traveller and made friends pretty easily.The rooftop bar is beautiful. Wish I'd stayed here longer!

This was a good hostel. The rooftop terrace is the highlight - the rooms are standard. It's good that the toilet and shower are separated. The beds could do with privacy curtains, though. Staff were friendly, and the kitchen was well equipped. There are also many cats nearby to pet!

I stayed here for many days, and had a nice time. This is not some flawless commercial place; it has a casual home vibe which I enjoyed. There are just a few ladies that work very hard to keep this place running. Clean rooms, good price, good location.

I found it to be intimate and easy to meet people and hang out, which is one of the most important aspects of a hostel in my opinion. I liked Envoy much better than Fabrika.

Staff really helpful with travel plans. High standards of cleaning. Beautiful setting overlooking the city, breakfast on the terrace with spectacular city view s is a travel experience.

Great hostel. Dorm sizes are small and have AC for a peaceful sleep, staff are helpful and friendly and there's always a great crowd of people to chat to.

Breakfast is not included in the price and is 10 GEL (except one which is 12GEL) per item, there are only four options, I recommend the Georgian pancakes, they were always really nice.

Trying to book tours through the hostel is a waste of time. There is never enough people to make the tours viable for the hostel so mine was cancelled short notice. Also whilst the website notes that tours happen each week on various days on a regular basis, that really isn't the case, tours dates are announced one week in advance for a single tour. It's a shame to say that it's a waste of time because you end up in this 'death spiral' where not enough people come on the tours to make them viable, then people find out that they get cancelled short notice, realise it's not worth it to use the service and then suddenly nobody bothers to book them anyway.🥲

Also the WiFi coverage in the hostel is patchy and unreliable and needs to be improved.

I choose the hostel for perfect location and with free breakfast, and i almost don’t get it as the staff had not found the deal. Agoda helps me solve this problem. Share kitchen and common area is quite useful. One day Tour to Armenia operates here but I miss that, and cost is just 170-180 Gel only. Do not buy Sim card from supermarket around the corner for you must confirm the price fist. I were charged 7 days unlimited for 40 gel not 7 gel. That made my day unhappy.
