Envoy Hostel in Tbilisi

The rooftop terrace is by far the highlight of this hostel — it offers a stunning panoramic view over Tbilisi and is a great place to meet other solo travellers in the evenings. The location is excellent too, right in the heart of Old Tbilisi and within walking distance of major sights, cafés, and sulphur baths.

Overall, Envoy was the best of the three hostels I stayed at in Tbilisi (compared to Fabrika and Elia Boutique), mainly thanks to the social vibe and unbeatable terrace. If you’re a solo traveller looking for a central, sociable spot with a great view, Envoy is a solid choice — just don’t expect luxury or too much flexibility.

What I didn’t like is that the mattresses were quite thin and uncomfortable, and the blanket provided wasn’t warm enough — I found myself feeling cold at night, even in early autumn. The staff are a mixed bag. Some nicer/more helpful than others. It was disappointing they wouldn’t accommodate an early check-in despite empty beds available. It seems like they couldn’t be bothered. I would say considering what you could get it’s priced on the higher side so not the best value for money.

I had an excellent tour experience with Envoy Hostel. Everything was perfectly organized from booking to the end of the trip. The staff were friendly, professional, and very responsive, making the whole process smooth and stress-free. The tour itinerary was well planned, covering beautiful locations, local culture, and key highlights of Georgia. Our guide was knowledgeable and engaging, which made the experience even more enjoyable. Transportation was comfortable, timing was well managed, and every detail was taken care of. What I appreciated most was the genuine hospitality—it felt more personal than a typical tour. Highly recommended for anyone visiting Georgia and looking for a reliable and high-quality tour experience. Definitely 5 stars.

Mestia, located in the Svaneti region of northwestern Georgia, is a truly extraordinary place where you can witness the majestic grandeur of the Caucasus Mountains. Spending a night in a town surrounded by medieval defensive towers makes you feel as though you’ve stepped back in time, blending a sense of antiquity with undeniable elegance. The journey continued to Ushguli, about two and a half hours from Mestia. Reaching this UNESCO World Heritage village at 2,200 meters above sea level was the highlight of my "time travel." Witnessing how the people lived and the resilience they showed in overcoming the hardships of that era was deeply moving. Sipping a warm cup of tea while gazing at the eternal snow-capped peaks, accompanied by a hearty Svaneti meal prepared with such care, instantly washed away all the fatigue of travel. While it shares some similarities with Tbilisi, the Svaneti region offers a distinct atmosphere, unique flavors, and a warm people all its own. I still fondly cherish the memories of drifting into nostalgia while listening to the songs of a local musician after dinner. The hotel I stayed at was the Gistola Hotel in Mestia, and it was truly top-tier. I was deeply impressed by its pristine cleanliness, incredibly comfortable beds, quite room, and warm, attentive service—not to mention the lavish and hearty breakfast. The location is also excellent, being just a short distance from the Mestia city center. Every evening, my friends and I enjoyed leisurely walks into town, sharing conversations and making the most of our time together. It was a highlight of the trip. Above all, the tour program by Envoy Hostel and Tours was exceptional; it allowed me to hear the hidden stories of the journey, learn from them, and get lost in deep reflection. If you wish to experience the very best of Georgia, I highly recommend traveling with Envoy. In this journey we call life, I am thoroughly enjoying the splendor of Georgia, creating unforgettable memories with great friends.

really nice hostel in Tbilisi. very friendly for solo travellers. cheap, clean, and friendly staff. the rooftop is a great place to meet people. strongly recommend. only downside is that its up a pretty steep hill 🫶

Good hostel that has spacious rooms. The terrace was very nice to chill and the check in and out was smooth.

Downside - there are only 1 shower and 1 toilet to be shared among the floor and there is a very steep climb up from the city.

Stayed here mid June. The girl on reception was lovely, (I think it was her first or second day), and gave a full tour of the building. Very communal and friendly and helpful. Was a solo traveller and made friends pretty easily.The rooftop bar is beautiful. Wish I'd stayed here longer!

This was a good hostel. The rooftop terrace is the highlight - the rooms are standard. It's good that the toilet and shower are separated. The beds could do with privacy curtains, though. Staff were friendly, and the kitchen was well equipped. There are also many cats nearby to pet!

The place of hostel was very beautiful because you can go everywhere on foot. and staff was very kind and knowledgeable. and the view of property at night was just awesome.

This is an excellent hostel located in the old Tbilisi area. 1. Clean rooms. They are cleaned every day in the morning. 2. Comfortable beds with warn and clean blankets. 3. Decent lockers inside bedrooms 4. Polite and friendly staff. 5. Bottled water is sold for a good price. 6. Toothbrush can also be purchased at this hotel 7. Each bed has a lamp, wall plug and a small shelf. 8. Excellent wi-fi. 9. Warm showers throughout the day and night. 10. Decent price 11. It has a rooftop with a bar. Great view from their rooftop. Great for night and sunrise photography. 12. There is a cheap and simple restaurant nearby called SHEMOMECHAMA. 13. The cleaning lady does a fantastic job keeping this hostel clean. 14. I heard that you can also order your breakfast here. 15. Open 24hrs. Good for late arrivals. Note: I strongly recommend this hostel. This is one of the best hostel I have stayed.

Envoy hostel can get 5 stars just for its location. Located right in the heart of old town Tbilisi, this place is walking distance from many city attractions and public transport options. The staff is very friendly and helps you in every way during your stay. The kitchen downstairs is very neat and tidy and you can make a free cup of coffee every morning. I said in a private room (shared bathroom) and it was one of the most comfortable rooms during my multi-destination vacation. The bathrooms are kept neat and tidy and the showers are great with hot/cold water with easy accessibility. They also have great internet in case you want to get some work done. But the best part.. is the rooftop terrace. They have a bar at the rooftop and some amazing views of old town Tbilisi overlooking the Holy Trinity Church. Unwinding at the terrace after the long day excursions with some beer and other fellow travelers was the best part of my stay.
