I stayed at the Sonnenhotel Fürstenbauer for four nights with my young daughter. Due to some of the very negative reviews, I had some reservations, but these proved unfounded. We received friendly service at the hotel. Despite language barriers, the staff always tried their best to ensure we had a pleasant stay. Our room was simple, but it had everything we needed, from a small kitchenette with a refrigerator to a nice little bathroom. Everything was clean; if one were looking for something to complain about, it might have been that the trash wasn't emptied daily. Breakfast was plentiful, with a variety of cold cuts, muesli, and fruit, and dinner was varied (yes, one day wasn't to our liking, but you can't please every guest every day). The swimming pool was relatively warm, which I've experienced before, and it had plenty of toys (balls, pool noodles) for the little ones. A highlight was the e-bike rental. At €5 per hour or €29 for the day, it was cheaper than renting them in town.

The hotel is a bit dated, but anyone who can distinguish between old and clean will agree that it's very clean.

The service at both reception and the restaurant was excellent. The food was also good.

We also used the indoor pool and the children's play area and found them perfectly adequate.

The location is fantastic. There are plenty of things to do with small children.

We'd love to come back!

Booked vacation 5 weeks ago. Two days before the start of the trip, both rooms were canceled due to alleged overbooking and we should postpone our vacation. The booking over the long weekend (2 days) was probably too little.

It's a cheap clean hotel with very friendly staff. The only downer is the dinner, there are empty containers and bowls if you are not the first. (Salad, dessert, vegetables, etc.) The food is always tasted very late.
