Hotel Villa Caldera in Cuxhaven

The room was new but simply furnished, lacking any particular quality. The bathroom was a disaster – it's unbelievable that such a place still exists! Old tiles and fixtures straight out of the 70s, the sink was already cracked, and the faucet wasn't adjustable, so it was broken. The shower tray had a high step and mold in the corners. – The breakfast selection was good, and the breakfast room was appealing. BUT: not all guests are treated equally here. Some, however, are treated like they're something special. We had to give up a lovely table by the window, complete with our full coffee cup and plate, even though other tables were still free, because that table was reserved for three other guests. Without any indication of our reservation, mind you! Just like that; we were apparently treated like second-class guests. We've never experienced anything like this in a hotel before, and we've stayed in hundreds of accommodations. When we paid the taxes, we weren't asked if we enjoyed our stay. No, we didn't. We will never return and cannot recommend this establishment. There are many better places to stay in Cuxhaven.
