Reviews
Let’s start with the positive things first:
- the staff was - especially in the restaurant and the ladies who cleaned the rooms - kind and interested in helping us with accommodating our wishes.
- The spa area was clean and the saunas wonderfully warm
- Excellent and complete breakfast buffet
- Nice, quiet and spacious room with a beautiful view of the surrounding hills & Bad Herrenalb.
Unfortunately we also have quite a few comments, which we hope the hotel’s management will review and learn from:
- upon arrival we discovered that all five e-car parkings in front of the hotel were occupied by non-e-cars. The reception manager did not show any interest in finding the non e-car owners and proposed that we could use the e-charger in the garage, but this would cost us €9,50/day excl. the charging costs. We had checked this in advance and find it very annoying that during our 6-day stay, we only observed two cars charging on two days. Tip: let your guests without e-car park in your garage or keep at least 1-2 parking spaces free for your guests with e-cars.
- The swimming pool is too cold which makes the spa experience less enjoyable
- The quality of the dinner (daily menu and a la carte) is okay but not the quality we had expected and much too overpriced.
- The internet in the rooms was not always good. The connection signal was not constant.
- we had much higher expectations to the Selfness program, which was a real disappointment. We had chosen for Schwarzwald-Panorama for the hotel’s health options: yoga, meditation, gymnastics etc. Not only was the yoga lessons much too expensive but there was only one session of water gymnastics on a Tuesday afternoon.
Coming from a family, who owned a Relais and Chateaux 5* hotel with strived for a high level of quality and where the clients were treated as kings, we thought our stay was decent. However, it came with some big flaws, which easily can be corrected to suit your clients’ expectations.
