Hotel Zur Alten Brücke in Heidelberg

Wonderful hotel! Location is awesome. Right next to the bridge but not so close to the very center which can get a little too crowded.
The owner/manager is so friendly as is the staff.
Eat at the restaurant for dinner! Lots of good local food but elevated a bit. I got the big local salad add roasted mushrooms and was very satisfied.
Breakfast is great with a little hot food and also all of the normal cold cheese, bread and cheese at a usual German breakfast.
So happy to have found this place!

I stayed at Hotel Zur Alten Brücke for just one night, and while the stay was short, the experience was unforgettable — thanks especially to Sebastian at the front desk.

When I arrived, Sebastian kindly helped me with my luggage and even brought it up to my room, which I truly appreciated after a long day of travel. The hotel itself was charming, comfortable, and perfectly located in the heart of Heidelberg’s old town.

When it was time to check out, Sebastian once again went above and beyond. He helped me with my heavy bags, walking with me over the cobblestone streets all the way to the Old Bridge (Alte Brücke) so I could catch a taxi from there. Later, after I had already left, I realized I had forgotten one of my bags. To my surprise and relief, Sebastian answered my call right away, helped me through every step, and personally arranged to have my bag shipped safely to me in the U.S.

His kindness, professionalism, and genuine care turned what could have been a stressful situation into a truly positive and memorable experience.

If you’re ever in Heidelberg, I highly recommend Hotel Zur Alten Brücke — and if Sebastian at the front desk is on duty, you’ll be in the best hands possible.

Hotel, staff and area were wonderful! Our bathroom was huge (unlike most European standards) the shower head was great! Only complaint was that the internet was really slow. Hotel needs to Consider MESH WiFi network.

Cannot beat the location right beside the Old Bridge and Neckar River. Beautiful guest rooms, dining / breakfast room is beautiful and good breakfasr option. Again, location is a mint.

Wonderful stay, very comfortable. You can’t get more central in Heidelberg! Very spacious washroom and comfortable beds.
