Very clean, comfortable hotel not far from Hauptbahnof. Good amenities - clean kitchen, wide sitting area. Great staff. Receptions guy with grey beard-) working for night shift was extremely helpful when I arrived late in the hotel. The only downside for me was that the rooms were not very warm. Overall, good value for money. Highly recommend it.

I had a really pleasant stay here. The hotel feels new and clean, and the rooms are simple but comfortable! The location is great, walking distance to the train station and the Weststadt, with organic shops and coworking spaces nearby. Friendly staff, beautifully unique and large rooms, comfortable heat control in the winter, and a great shower/tub. It's an old building so noise travels between rooms.

We stayed at the hotel in June 2025. Family of four. The location is relatively central and close to the train station. This is great for those on foot but it also means it is loud and busy in the area. There is a park across the street towards train station that had people in it talking loudly and screaming until late into the morning. This is a very well maintained, modest hotel in a lovely part of town. The staff is very friendly and accommodating but note that the reception desk closes between 10:30p and 6:30a. It’s a nice hotel, with a very good breakfast. A nice option for people who only needs a WiFi, breakfast and some rest. Though it is away from the city center, there is a direct train right from the hotel to the center. Surprisingly convenient. Used this hotel as a base for my trip to the 2016 German Grand Prix. It's located about 2km south of the city centre but it is perfect for the purpose I needed it for. There's abundant transport links to the city centre, central train station (Hauptbahnhoff) or both. On top of that, the hotel ensures that you get to your room even outside of reception hours.

It was clean. Bedroom was comfortable. It is near the bus station and not that far from the train station. We only saw people at the reception on the very last day. The check-in was weird, because we had to call someone to give us a pin code to open a locker with our key, and I think that should be managed with email or chat, if guests are arriving late in the night. In our room the wifi was inexistent...

We booked several rooms for a family gathering. Everyone was very much satisfied at all levels. The hotel is conveniently located in the city center and near the tram stop, from where one can get to Heidelberg within 15 mins.

The hotel is an old building, which exceeded my expectations. The rooms were clean, and the location right next to the Old Bridge was very convenient and quiet. The location is fantastic! Just 20 meters to the right after exiting the hotel is Tonghou! The staff were very friendly, and there were apples available in the elevator area. There was a kettle but no slippers. Breakfast included cheesecake! Not bad. However, on the afternoon of our check-in, the hotel emailed us saying there was no hot water, meaning we either couldn't shower or had to change hotels...

The room wasn't big but it was clean, though the hot water wasn't very good. The restaurant downstairs was exquisitely decorated with a musical instrument theme. Breakfast was plentiful and delicious. Dinner was authentic German food, but not very good. The old bridge, square, and church are just outside. The staff spoke excellent English and were very friendly. Highly recommended!

My only struggle was showing up later than expected and not being able to contact the emergency number due to my phone, but I got it figured out and everyone was kind and approachable. I stayed in a single room, which worked for me, but I would definitely look at the larger rooms if I was with my wife and/or family.

It was a real delight staying here. Not only was the hotel installations very beautiful and the rooms big, but the personal was also extremely kind and helpful, giving many delicious options for the breakfast, and kindly looking after anything they could to make the stay more pleasant. This is a throwback to a simpler time: a family-owned hotel with perfectly comfortable but simply appointed rooms and gracious service from the proprietors. The breakfast in particular was wonderful: not your usual buffet, but instead everything brought to your table, including, of course, delicious breakfast rolls, but also eggs cooked to order, homemade jelly, a nice spread of cheese and cold cuts...

We were very pleased by our stay at the Altstaft. It is a small boutique hotel that isn’t fancy but it is in great condition, super clean and in a great location near Bismarckplatz, transportation and the Main Street for shopping and dining. Walkable in 15 minutes to the funicular to get to Schloss Heidelberg. Would go back for sure.

This hotel was modern and very well designed. It was clean and the staff were exemplary. We had secure parking too which was a bonus. Just down the road thrrr was a convenient tram stop which took us into Heidelburgh. In the evening we were directed to a wonderful Italian restaurant where we had a fantastic meal. My room was cozy with an awesome view, and the staff were fantastic. Everybody was so nice and helpful! I had a car carrier that would not fit in the parking garage and they let me take it off and bring it up to their storage room until we left. If they didn’t let me do that I would’ve had a park 1.8 km away. We had a great time at the Christmas market, which is just below perfect location.
