This is the best hotel in the Bavarian region. Very clean, warm, and quiet. The hotel staff is wonderful and speaks multiple languages. It offers an authentic Bavarian village atmosphere and a top-notch restaurant. It's conveniently located, close to popular tourist attractions. This is our third year in a row staying at this hotel, and we have only the best memories.

Right in front of Ettal Abbey so you can't beat the location. We got the comfort apartment and it had everything (no ac which is common in the region)!!! Plus was super clean and spacious. It wasn't in the main building and we needed to take two flights of stairs, but the room and view made up for that workout.

Lovely hotel , friendly staff large rooms. Added bonus of pool and sauna. Rooms could do with a kettle for tea and.coffee but water was supplied and topped up every day. Great location for seeing tourist spots

This hotel far exceeded my expectations. I booked it with my eyes closed. The view of the Black Forest was all outside the window. The breakfast was also unbeatable. There were no shortcomings. Free parking was also provided. The price was very suitable!

Are you kidding me? Is there a more perfect view in all of Bavaria? I could have say on this balcony for a month straight! Honestly the bed was very hard, the pillows were much firmer than others in Germany (thankfully), the staff was terrific! Try the cheese board and Ettal Dunkel! We felt very comfortable at the Alphotel. It's not super-modern, but it was clean and well-maintained. Highlights were the view of a mountain range from the hotel room (with a balcony and small front garden) and the wonderful terrace where we enjoyed the generous breakfast. Points deducted for the bitter coffee and the lack of a refrigerator in the room. We would stay there again anytime.

We spent one night here during a motorcycle tour. The accommodation was well-maintained and clean, with outdoor parking for the motorcycles. The sauna and pool area are available for use. We couldn't use the restaurant because it was closed on Sundays.

The best thing about this hotel is that it is behind a hill from the busy highway and thus quiet. The staff was also very good. However there were a number of maintenance items, especially in the shower. And you had to slam the door to get it to latch when leaving. Felt like they went cheap when they built it.

This was an excellent hotel for a 2 week stay. The hostess is extremely friendly and goes out of her way to help. The rooms are extremely spacious and everything is kept very clean. One of the best stays I've had, largely due to the great hostess.

We were there just for a meal as part of our visit to the Passion plays. It was well organised, the food was excellent, drinks served quickly, time was of an essence as we were there during the interval. It’s a 10 - 15minute walk from the main part of the town, but there is a free bus which circulates every 20 minutes.

Wonderful stay with friendly and helpful staff, quiet location with mountain view right across the street. Sauna available from 3-8pm is a treat after a day in the outdoors. A hot Gluhwein on tap in the afternoons and the fireplace rounds off a luxurious stay. Breakfast from 8-10am is diverse and high quality. Rooms and bathrooms are immaculately clean.

I must say that overall, services in Germany have worsened in the last two years. The staff were very friendly and helpful. But the price-quality ratio is quite poor.

I stayed in this hotel in July. As I travelled with Deutsche Bahn, I took a bus from the train station, because of the heavy luggage (Oberammergau was not my only stop). Happy to be back at Mammhofer and Oberammergau We’ve been here 5 times, last 3 at Mammhofer. Close to everything we want to visit, easy go anywhere in town just walking. What a great place! This is a great property that is well worth the price. The family that runs it are wonderful. We had a wonderful room with a balcony. It is very up to date. There is even a reasonable cost to use the laundry. Breakfast was outstanding with numerous selections.

This is an excellent place to stay when visiting Oberammergau. The rooms are spacious, the breakfast excellent and the staff are very welcoming and helpful. We stayed here in 2023 and again this past July in 2025. The hotel is conveniently located in Oberammergau and is an easy walk to restaurants and shopping. The hotel itself was absolutely beautiful. My only issue throughout our stay was that all of the soaps and lotions at the hotel had some type of nut ingredient in them. My partner has a severe nut allergy and felt quite uncomfortable after finding out soaps and lotions were made from nuts. The hotel is not far from the train station, about 10 minutes' walk. I stayed here for one night before going to Zugspitze the next day. The facilities are a bit old, but the scenery is beautiful and the service staff are very friendly. I will consider staying here again next time I have a chance.

This is a decent 4-star hotel located in Garmisch. It was 7 min walk from train station. There was a kebab shop and an icecream restaurant right next to and across it. The hotel sauna environment is great, although it is also very good👍 The restaurant environment is first-class and the breakfast is rich The town is a famous holiday destination and is very convenient for shopping and dining. There is a home-brewed beer restaurant near the hotel, and the beer is good👍
