I had the pleasure of staying at the yard for 10 days this past July. From check in to check out, the service was friendly and effecient. I stayed in large room and the room was spacious, cool, and had a great shower. The location was ideal for our purposes, it was a nice walk to the transit station and places of interest in Kreuzberg. This design hotel could have had many ways to stand out but just misses quite some points. We had a two bedroom apartment with kitchenette. The apartment had character and was clean, however if you are planning on cooking, the kitchenette was very small with minimal implements. The latch to the window was broken, so we were very concerned about setting the smoke alarm off. It was very noisy during the night and the beds were very firm. We did not opt in for the breakfast as it was 19 euro...

The elevator broke while we were staying on the sixth floor. We asked for assistance with our large luggage and they refused. By sheer coincidence a cleaning lady saw us and helped on the last floor when we were checking out. Otherwise nice facility and good for a place with a group.

The hotel itself was really nice and the reception staff always polite. I found one or two of the breakfast staff a little rude at times. We found the room to be quite small with little space to put general things out. One thing that was missing was tea and coffee making facilities, I can’t remember when I was in a hotel without this. All in all, though, it was a comfortable stay.

99% a very pleasant, enjoyable and satisfying stay. My only negative was: 1 of the 2 lifts being out of service. And, having to walk up 10 steps to reach the reception desk. There was a bit of a confusion at the start with my room yet to be cleaned, but after that everything went smoothly. The receptionist was nice and fixed the issue quickly. Room was okay, clean and had a decent size despite being the smallest option.

The only complain I have is the AC. The AC broke during the entire stay. This is not acceptable for a four star hotel since it is quite hot in end of June for Germany. Other than that, the room is large and clean. The bed is comfortable. The location is also good with plenty of transport options.
