Fora Hotel Hannover by Mercure in Hannover

This Hotel is not close to anything like entertainment, restaurants event venues or tourist attractions. Probably best for seminars and meetings at the hotel itself. I stayed here two times for business and initially chose this place, because I need a rental car for work and they had free parking in their garage. Well, no more, they now charge 15 Euro per day. The hotel has 142 rooms and there is no free public parking nearby to cover anything close to that. The hotel itself has four (4) free parking spots next to the entrance.
The hotel is a mixed bag and just average for this price category. The hotel is mostly modern and clean, but little flaws add up.
For example they did not have a room ready for me even at check in time, despite my longtime membership with the chain. There were only two hangers in the wardrobe, and yes, when you ask, they will bring more. The hotel is mostly modern, but the safe in the room is „old school“ and does not have a programmable number lock. You have to obtain a physical key at the front desk and then carry it around when you leave the hotel. You have to confirm in writing, that you will pay 100 Euro, if you lose it. Diminishes the benefits of the magnetic room key card. The hotel is mostly clean, but there is some fungus in multiple shower areas. The desk lamp didn’t work; switch is on the cord under the desk, but bulb is not lighting up. The morning after the first room cleaning the TV turned on at 4:00am. In the framed „painting“ the print had shifted inside the frame. The breakfast was very good, but the ant walking across my breakfast table was a negative.
On the plus side the internet speed was high at 100 Mbps and above.
I have visited Hannover for business for many years and there are better hotels in better locations to choose from at this price point, once you accept paid on-Site parking.

3 of us in 3 rooms staying on a Sunday night. Arrived to find bar and restaurant closed. The single member of staff could not even get welcome drinks as the All app had failed. Please make it very clear when booking what facilities are available on what days.
