Reviews
Useful location for a business trip, a short walk from a tram stop a few stops away from Messe and other key locations. Check in is automated and it seemed very efficient, though there was also someone there to help me when I checked in.
They only had rooms with bunk beds left so that was fun. The staff member who helped me check in assured me that I wouldn't have to share with anyone. The room was basic but clean, though the aircon system was quite dusty. Climate control in the room was very configurable and I was nice and cool all night, which was essential in the hot weather. The mattresses were basic but perfectly comfortable. The pillows were just about the softest and fluffiest I have ever experienced - I kinda wanna ask where they bought them...
The room did not have shampoo/conditioner or an iron/ironing board - I didn't contact the staff to ask about these, so I'm not sure if we could get them. The lobby is unstaffed during night time hours, so I couldn't ask in person. I think it would be useful to have a vending machine in the lobby selling toiletries and other essentials.
The room had individual safes and a small wardrobe for each bunk bed. Rooms are cleaned every 2 days - the cleaners opened the curtains and switched the aircon off, so the room was very hot when I got back.
Hot and cold drinks, pastries and granola were on sale in the morning in the lobby, where there's plenty of comfortable seating.
Overall it was a good experience - I would stay again.
If you are relying solely on a software to welcome your guests, be sure to make the software as smooth as possible!
The hotel itself had all we need for a short stay; the bed was comfortable, there was a coffee machine and a nice view at the Cathedral. Bathroom was nice too, although one towel was slightly dirty (didn't bother us as much, since it was just a short stay).
Tl;dr the hotel is good if you need a place to sleep during a shorter stay. The location is a big plus. Check-in was the worst thing; buggy software caused us (and others) some issues.
Is this such behaviour also company policy? That housekeeping can go all around, singing and throwing stuff on purpose so loud that it makes guests to wake up and leave rooms early.
The whole concept of this hotel is awesome. Check in and check out without any communication with hotel team. Everything is online and digitalised which is make this hotel more modern and comfortable. But housekeeping staff is horrible. How HR could be okay with such behaviour?! Unfortunately there was no one to complain about it. If he only one who works on that floor and doesn’t have time to clean all room till check-in time, then you need to hire more staff. Because he was waking everyone up on purpose to clean rooms faster. We were literally forced to leave the room at 10:40. That’s completely disappointing that only one team member can destroy all good representation of this hotel. Definitely will not come again!
Hotel access and check-in are also quite smooth.
However,
1. Room is very basic.
2. Almost no sound-proofing. Even worst since our room is across the elevator.
3. Water pressure is super low.
4. Too bad that we found garbage from previous guest was still in the bathroom
It is ok for one night, but not could have been better for the price i paid.
The hotel has a boutique vibe which was nice. The facilities were clean and tidy and the self check in and check out were easy to use. The bed was large and comfortable. The decor felt a little cold, but actually the hotel was warm and comfortable.
However there were a few irritating points with this hotel:
There seems to be no sound proofing. While it wasn't a huge bother in the evening as people settled down, I was woken up a few times in the morning by the sounds of people moving around. I'd rather be able to have some quiet in my room.
The shower area could do with a bit of a refresh as the floor was lifting from water damage and a few edges looked tired. However this could be a room specific thing.
The shower 3-in-1, shower gel provided by the hotel was not great. I understand the need to be eco friendly but when traveling around Europe many people only bring cabin luggage and cannot bring liquids. Therefore relying on the hotel's offerings. 3-in-1 shower gel doesn't really give a luxury hotel feeling, especially at the price point paid for the stay.
Last point, maybe it's because I'm British but Tea available in the room would also be nice.
Overall I had a decent stay, but I don't feel like it was good value considering the price point I paid.
