The hotel's location is excellent, making it super convenient to get around. There's even a direct pathway from the hotel restaurant that leads right to the river for a pleasant stroll. The view from the window is fantastic, looking directly out onto the church and old town hall. The room itself is quite spacious, though I did find my slippers getting stuck to the bathroom floor a few times.

Hotel is generally very good—clean, well-maintained, and in an excellent location. However, we stayed in a room facing the inner courtyard, and the window could not be opened. The floors were carpeted, and the room felt poorly ventilated. During the night, my wife and son had difficulty breathing, and overall the room felt quite stuffy.

Fantastic hotel! Even though it's not in the Old Town, it's incredibly convenient to get to the cathedral – just a 2-minute train ride from the station right next to the hotel, even faster than taking the bus. The hotel location is excellent, with panoramic views of the cathedral. The only downside is that one of the beds creaks every time you turn over, which disturbed my sleep.

Water spilled in the bathroom after taking a shower - despite a personal conversation with the receptionist, none of the staff came to the rescue. The hotel is well located, not directly in the old town, but in walking distance to all sights of the city. It is in a relatively quiet area with wonderful views of the Dom. The staff is exceptionally friendly and the gym & spa area is clean and worth a visit to relax. The rooms are comfortable, spacious and clean.

The buffet was great in terms of variety and quality. The hotel was a little dirty and the walls are very thin. I could hear my neighbours😅 talking. The bed was a little dirty with yellow stains on the bed frame and sheets. The sauna room was nice and pretty new but it was also a little unkept with dirty towels inside. Overall the hotel has a fantastic location just needs to be cleaned better.

This hotel is super close to Cologne Cathedral and the Cologne Central Station, just about a ten-minute walk, which is incredibly convenient. You can even see Cologne Cathedral from your room! The minibar drinks are complimentary, and the room itself is clean and tidy.

The location is quite good. The room was very spacious and well decorated. Although it is located on a busy road, the room was reqlly quiet.

The room was incredibly clean, and it even had a bathtub. But the best part was the breakfast – a fantastic spread, very clean, and top-notch service. It was perfect for a first-time visitor to Germany like me, wanting to experience local specialties.

It was a pretty good stay. Having a supermarket right next door was really convenient, and being next to the pedestrian shopping street was great for shopping. Plus, Cologne Cathedral is less than a ten-minute walk away.

I didn't take photos of the Superior room, but it's definitely more spacious than the standard room. The bathroom didn't have a bathtub, which I actually prefer. The hotel is very close to the Chocolate Museum and right by the Rhine River. In the mornings, lots of people are out walking and exercising, so the environment is quite pleasant.

Had a wonderful stay at Best Western Plus Hotel. Service is excellent and amenities are 5 star. Bathrobes, towels, slippers, and toiletries are all excellent qualities. Small refrigerator is full of sparkling water bottles, soft drinks and chocolates and all free to consume. Plus Coffee machine with 4 or 5 types of coffee flavors complete with milk or creamer, and also different tea sachets, and chips...

1. The location is a bit far from the city center, which may not be ideal if you plan to explore the downtown area frequently. 2. Check-in is only available after 3:00 PM, which felt a bit inconvenient. 3. The service was just average — staff were not particularly warm or welcoming.

Probably last time i'll go to this hotel. You can park your car on site for.... 24€.... I took the car and parked on the street for 5€. Sauna only open from 17h to 22h....and you need to pay for it 9.50€... All these things were not mentioned. There is like a self checkin, which is fast but nothing personal. Check out is on a computer that works half, so a staff member needs to stay next to that computer...

The transportation is convenient overall, but if you use public transportation, you should be careful when you come back at night. You will pass a very dark park. Location, room, service, and breakfast were all excellent. Unfortunately, the elevator in the guesthouse was out of order. I was immediately offered a luggage service and free entry to the sauna, which I thought was very thoughtful. The breakfast is superb. A wide variety of dishes and extras, such as waffle batter for making your own. The room was very large and well-equipped.

I stayed in the annex hotel not  main hotel booking and would have been a better experience as I had to cross the street  to go to the hotel restaurant for breakfast. Really good customer service. Sauna &pool awesome. Breakfast awesome.

Great hotel and location. Ideal for visiting the markets in late November. It was a shame that the sauna was only operational at certain times mid-week. Meant that it was always crowded early evening.

Unfortunately we got a somewhat old and worn out room. The shower had only cold water that day and the sink was clogged. Not a great experience. The breakfast is okay but lacks any vegetables and salads, which is strange. Sauna and gym is fine.

The room looked like the pictures and was very large. I rented one of the apartments. The shower was amazing. Super convenient to the train and there's a grocery store one block behind the hotel. Only real negative was they only give you one pod for the coffee machine, but you can buy coffee and tea around the corner. I would stay here again.

This is a lovely hotel, situated right by the main train station. The city center is easily accessible on foot. The valet parking service was reliable and extremely convenient. Plus, there's a fantastic rooftop bar.

Spa was very nice, wasn’t prepared for the naked sauna’s though as wasn’t sure whether signage meant swimwear was optional or not allowed, probably an English thing, so avoided. Naked people wasn’t a problem to us but families with children should probably be made more aware.

The single room was indeed very small, haha, a bit like a student dormitory. However, the hygiene services were acceptable, and there was a complimentary bottle of sparkling water in the refrigerator. In the Center of cologne, Advertised spa is apparently a collaboration with an external spa and fitness club, which was not clear upon placing reservation. Not to much to expect by the room offer but cleanliness and features in bathroom, as body lotion Handwaschbeckenand shower gel were recommendable and boutique retailer. Overall recommendable for a short stay.

Decent hotel and the rooms are quite nice. I was upgraded to the duplex suite. It was cool, but there was no heat downstairs, so it was way too cold. Situated in the Altstadt-Nord district, Hotel Merian is a short 2-minute walk from Cologne Central Station (Köln Hbf) and less than 10 minutes on foot from the Cologne Cathedral.
