Most positive was the service we experienced. We were welcome very friendly and got several hints for restaurants, where to go, what to see, which local beer to try, etc. Outstandingly friendly staff at reception and bar! Breakfast was ok, though the broken radio and overall interior choices made this feel like being in a youth hostel instead of a hotel.

It is a mixture of excellent and terrible. Rooms are excellent, spacious, nicely furnished, silent, well lit and equipped, very good. Beds are big and comfy. There is a huge reading chair in each room. Warm meals are tasty, provide interesting new flavors, a clear recommendation. Amazing hotel with an excellent position, very quiet and so close to the train station. We chose it because we wanted to go to the Spiel Essen exhibition and it was perfect.

Nice area found it strange no microwave in kitchen plus noisy below because of supermarket at very early times frying pan and other pans need renewed in kitchen plus first night got smaller room because of mix-up then had to move next day staff working there helpful.

A very spacious, quiet, clean apart hotel and with access to public transport across the street. It has a mini kitchen with the basics for a coffee or store something simple. Has a big supermarket In the corner and you have everything you need to have a quiet stay and rest comfortably. It also has a parking outside the place, it is safe. Excellent to stay with children or family.

Very clean rooms. But unfortunately the climate in the hotel room was very poor. It was hot and humid. Also, in my opinion the pillows were too large and too small. Furthermore, the hotel itself and its facilities were outdated. Therefore, I would not recommend this hotel.

The Food was amazing! They were happy to accommodate and make the seasonal asparagus meal with a vegan sauce! The only thing was the old lady walking around and come really close to us and hovering in our personal Space 😭

I have stayed at zum neuling for the last 4-5 years whilst visiting family in bochum. The staff are very welcoming and willing to cater to all your needs. They are also good to have a chat with at the bar on a quiet evening. The hotel itself is very clean and well presented and offer an outstanding continental breakfast. I can guarantee that i will be staying religiously now for many years to come

The staff were friendly but I did get told off for using the lower door in order to avoid the steps but I explained that I suffer from knee stiffness. The breakfast was good but the room requires updating, the carpet was quite bad and there were no facilities in the room such as a mini fride

We had a great stay in this hotel! It was one of the places we stayed in during our honeymoon trip and they were so nice and they upgraded our room and even left us a personal handwritten note and played a little song when we arrived. The bed is super comfortable and the room is spacious. Also the tram stops right in front of it so it's super convenient, would definitely stay in it again ❤️

The room's interior was modern and comfortable, with all the necessary amenities, and the bathroom was clean and easy to use. While parking reservations aren't possible, it's available for €12 per day if space is available, which I think is a reasonable price. Breakfast was a bit disappointing because the food was cold, but overall, the variety and quality were standard and satisfactory.

Good hotel in centre of Bochum. We've been there for one night and all was good. Worker in reception can speak English. Rooms are clear but one thing that didn't satisfied us that was size of bathroom, it was too small and I think if closet was not so huge it has more space for bathroom. Location right next to the train station, so it's easy for connections. Parking is available for 9€ per day which is great for anyone traveling from out of town with a car and need a parking space while out and about on the public transport. The facilities are old and the state of the bathroom shows it. The hotel is located in a quiet area and well connected to public transport and supermarkets.

Booked for 3 nights to attend a Rammstein concert in nearby Gelsenkirchen. A little out of the way (11km from Gelsenkirchen itself) but a really laid back atmosphere. As my German is very rusty, I was grateful to see that several members of reception spoke English. Although their website states they have a restaurant, it appears that it’s only a continental breakfast and no lunches or dinners available...

The property was conveniently located to the bus/train station. Within walking distance to many restaurants/bars and shopping. It was very noisy as there were groups of people getting off the busses ad 3am/4am yelling/chanting and waking us up.

Centrally located hotel directly at the main train station, currently undergoing renovations due to a change of ownership. Heating/air conditioning not working.

The pictures taken by the hotel don't really reflect reality - we were there 3 times and never had a room that really looked like that. The location near the main train station is very central, and the bus station is also right in front of the hotel. This naturally attracts a corresponding clientele...when it's cold outside, the people disappear relatively quickly, but the warmer it gets, the "hotter...

We were positively surprised by this hotel. The breakfast buffet is small, but better than few 4 stars I have been at. The personal was extremely friendly. Making breakfast was really pleasing. The reception was very friendly, they gave us a useful tip to avoid a big group between 8 and 9 at breakfast. We booked for 4, we ate in 5, no problem. Ibis style is now in our preferred list.

The day I arrived, there was a strike so most of the buses and U line were not working but the location was good so it allowed...

Booked a room for 2 adults and 1 child. Only 1 double bed no child bed. I asked to be moved no availability on rooms with 3 bed. I asked for a folding bed they didn't have any. So one of us had to sleep on the floor. The double bed had a single size duvet. Only thing I would say is room was clean and spacious. I wouldn't book again.

The room was exceptional. The bed very comfortable. The shower and bathroom were great. Just one issue that water from the shower leaked into the bathroom area for some reason. The breakfast buffet was excellent. Although I would suggest that the coffee they use should be a bit less bitter because the cappuccino and latte macchiato were too strong for us. All in all it is a wonderful hotel.

I asked for an early check in and the greek girl at the reception did her best to give me a room at 10.30 despite that check in was at 15.00. These are small details that make the next time I come back to Bochum I won't hesitate to stay at this hotel again. Top service.

The room has a good air volume. The area has a good air quality. The air change rate is insufficient. It needs a 24/7 ACH system which potentially uses zero or low power. We’ll be visiting again this hotel in this area.

Room was oke. Clean. I had a 1 person room you don't see those a lot anymore. But the bed was 120-140 wide so okay. The breakfast was realy nice with salmon fresh baked eggs and to much to choose from. The staff was very nice.

The first room of bunk beds was solid but other room of bunk beds was worse than the first one. Online booking is typically €25-€28 for a bed in multi-bed dorm but in person the person who bought my room was charged whole €42 for extending 1 night for bed in multi bed dorm room.

Just stayed there for a couple of nights on my way through. There are new owners since August, in their 30s, very helpful and nice. It’s a a bit older but charming and I really like that it’s not just another franchise. Rooms are basic, tidy and comfortable. The hotel is right in town. Restaurants, supermarkets, are close with walkable distances. Would stay again.

This is the best hotel I’ve ever been to. Its very clean, very comfortable and my overall experience is great! The room is being cleaned every day and tea/coffee is restocked. They leave little presents 😍 who doesn’t love presents?!
