Description

B&B HOTEL Bochum Hbf-Süd is a 2-star hotel built in 1981 and renovated in 1995, offering basic but clean accommodations with a solid service rating of 8/10. The hotel includes amenities such as free WiFi, free parking, a bar, a restaurant, and a business center, catering to travelers needing convenience next to Bochum's main train station. While rooms and bathrooms are notably small, cleanliness and attentive multilingual staff stand out. Definitively a good option if you arrived middle night and have no place to stay. I would like to give 5 stars but I only was there once and for one night.

The personnel that attended me are extremely kind and attentive, both the night- and day-shift. For example, as I am no German speaking, there were considerated and speak English with no hesitation (no like other places that they refuse to do so).

I thought it would be dirty and messy next to the train station, but I found the facilities were great and the hygiene was satisfactory.

Superbly central location. Convenient to travel to anywhere with the train station just next to it.

Good hotel in centre of Bochum. We've been there for one night and all was good. Worker in reception can speak English.
Rooms are clear but one thing that didn't satisfied us that was size of bathroom, it was too small and I think if closet was not so huge it has more space for bathroom.
And thing with what I personally was in love that little round windows with lovely ornament ❣️

Very basic - but expensive - stay.
The room was clean but very small and a bit worn. The bathroom was VERY small eg. you could not sit on the toilet without your knees were hitting the wall. This hat happened to others before us because the toilet roll holder was loose and the toilet paper kept falling down because you could not avoid touching it when going to the toilet.
The location very close to the station is good if you only need it for a stay while visiting nearby cities.
We went for the Euro 2024 and the hotel had more than doubled the price making it way too expensive for this very basic hotel.
The staff was friendly.

Location right next to the train station, so it's easy for connections. Parking is available for 9€ per day which is great for anyone traveling from out of town with a car and need a parking space while out and about on the public transport. The room is small, but there's enough space to unpack some clothes if needed. I didn't take the hotel breakfast, so cannot comment about that. Checkout was until 12.00 which is nice if you have no rush in the morning.

The bathroom is tiny and might bother bigger people. I was happy the showerhead had two spray settings, as initially I was disappointed with the water pressure. But the second setting, although narrower spray, gives better pressure. (I really dislike low water pressure!)

The room has an airconditioning unit, so I was spared from outside noise by opening the window for cool / fresh air. The aircon is a bit noisy though. I only needed a place to sleep and shower, so I didn't spend much time inside, and hence the small size of the room and bathroom didn't bother me.

My check-in in the afternoon was easy and painless and the lady at reception was friendly. I was out for a show and arrived back shortly after midnight. At that time, another guy was at reception, and was greeted happily. Before retiring for the night (morning) I sat outside the hotel doors at the available tables with a nice cold beer that was available for purchase at reception, even at that time of night. For a Friday night it wasn't so noisy outside and was actually quite calm.

After traveling throughout Europe for multiple sporting events, I booked a stay here for my brother and I. For the price we paid, this was the worst hotel experience of recent memory.

Expensive, run down, noisy, tiny rooms, and overall cleanliness were all very much below acceptable for a hotel chain of this size.

It should be closed down and demolished or a major refurbishment should be actioned immediately.

Good 4 day stay, however it was hot at night, lack of a little air conditioning in the room
