Where it shines is value for money. Parking is easy (which is gold in Monschau), the beds are comfortable, and check-in is smooth — even with self-service kiosks. Perfect if you just want a quiet, easy place to crash after exploring the half-timbered magic of town.
That said, it’s not for everyone. There’s no on-site restaurant or evening bar, and it misses a bit of that cozy, family-run warmth Monschau is famous for. Breakfast is simple — coffee, bread, cheese, and cold cuts — fine, but nothing memorable.
Accessible room on reception floor very handy, spacious & clean. Also very close for bus station when travelling on foot.
The hotel is a bit like a youth hostel, as in that the staff is not there all the time (not before check in time anyways and you need to leave your keys on the front desk when checking out)..the rooms are extremely basic (no decorations at all, very functional). There are no drinks in the minifridge..there is a machine in the hallway with a few choices. But at least everything is very clean and the beds are good.
During our stay it was quite noisy, at night you could hear people walking in the hallways, talking, and sounds from the nextdoor rooms.
Would I go again? Yes, because parking can be very difficult in this town, the hotel was good enough for the price. But I would ask for a quiet room next time.
Breakfast was quite decent, nothing to complain about.
