This review is of the restaurant only. The hotel site is opposite the lake and depending where you are seated can give lovely views of the lake. Our server was excellent and spoke limited English which complemented our limited German. He even went out of his way and obtained an off menu item . The menu choice was fairly average but the food was nicely cooked and presented and there was plenty of it
Fabulous ........stayed here for four nights with Leger. Beautiful hotel in a gorgeous setting by the lake. Spotlessly clean, lovely helpful staff. My room was amazing - very big with king size bed and a single bed, table and chairs, flat screen tv - and still plenty of room. Lovely en suite with large shower cubicle (good, hot shower) and twin basins. Warm and cosy, felt very at home. Balcony with...
Leger coach trip to Germany for the New Year, staying at the Hotel Seemowe near Simmerath, we had a great crowd on our coach and the drivers Andy and Sonia were brilliant, I would recommend booking a Leger holiday they do some great locations and great trips.
Stayed here via Ledger Holidays. Check in was very fast and efficient. Room was a reasonable size with a Good size balcony overlooking the water. Bed was reasonably comfortable but pillows were extremely soft. Bathroom was OK with a reasonable size shower with average water pressure, but very slow to drain. Overall the room was OK, but was in need of a refurbishment to get away from the 1980s decor...
We stayed here on a leger holiday lovely hotel by the lake very clean bed was comfortable staff was very polite breakfast was very good would definitely recommended this hotel had a balcony what was very nice would definitely stay again
Very good hotel and very clean, nothing to say. Breakfast very good, but the evening dinner always soup as a starter, main course and dessert not great. Only 1 menu, no choice. hotel well located facing the lake. beautiful walk. very clean little village.

A hotel just by the lake … big comfortable rooms with lakeview. Breakfast: different kinds of bread, cheese, cereals, fresh fruit and homemade jams. Correct and friendly staff
Friendly personnel, free coffee and pie for guests. Large choice for breakfast, rooms with great view and nice and clean rooms. Great quality for the price. Location is great, excellent for walking or cycling. Everyone is friendly, definitely coming back here.
Reiner and Suna Henn are both a great example of how excellent hospitality and customer care looks like! Warm hearted and really nice owners that go the extra mile to make our stay most comfortable. What a view and great qualiy at breakfast. And excellent ship connectivity to Einrur or Schwammenauel. Thank youvery much for making our stay pleasant and memoreable.
The view from the cafe Konditerei Henn is great but we couldn't enjoy it fully because the owners had put the card with the names on the tables and we asked for another table but we were not allowed to change the table although there was enough place there. It was so disappointing! Talking about breakfast, there was very little food..a bit of everything.
German road trip. We are currently on a road trip in Germany and this was our first night. We had been travelling for many, many hours and needed somewhere to stay. This hotel was great. The location was simply stunning. The room was comfortable and tidy. Also a very nice size. The balcony let you have a lovely view of the lake. Check in was superb and very efficient. Reminds me of a seaside resort. Room was great, beds were comfortable. Dining a short walk in either direction. Breakfast was delicious and many choices. Staff very welcoming and helpful.

The reception was a bit cold and seemed to be about getting our money as soon as possible. The room is OK but the bed was two singles pushed together and the shower was tiny, like something from a student flat. We had a TV with Netflix and other apps on it but were told it didn't have a WiFi connection, which it did, as I managed to connect it myself. Breakfast was OK but if you want to eat a decent...
Amazing location, great value for the money, fantastic service. All of these made it a fantastic weekend destination for us. We'll be back one day for sure.
Great hotel for a motorbike trip, secure parking garage was available. There is a dinner buffet.
Nice hotel. Indeed the rooms need some renovation. The breakfast was quite OK (for a Dutch hotel :) ) the stuff is amazing, they are always available and helpful. But by far the best thing about this hotel is its sauna. You basically reserve and the whole sauna area, with 4 different sauna rooms, jacuzzi and showers. Is for your private use in that hour. This was wonderful experience. We would come...
During our stay, we discovered a few important aspects worth mentioning for future guests. Firstly, it's advisable to request a room at the back of the hotel to avoid the noise from the terrace and passing traffic, which can be quite disruptive. One significant drawback was the lack of air conditioning, which made the rooms a bit uncomfortable, especially during warmer days. Although the rooms were...

A nice quiet house. Centrally located, we walked to the old town in a short time. The breakfast has everything you need. The service is exceptionally friendly. The rooms are adequately equipped. The bathroom is well furnished and spacious.
A hotel run by a very friendly lady who constantly takes care of her guests. The breakfast is excellent, served at the table and leaves nothing to be desired. The rooms are functionally furnished, it is very clean. Apart from the breakfast room there are no other areas - no bar where you can have a drink in the evening.
Nice and cosy hotel, perfect hospitality, attentive and cheerful personnel. Clean room and almost new and modern bathroom. However, interiors are bit old fashioned, but in a good state. Wooden floors and when someone walks in a corridor, glasses on your table clink.
Magnificent personal. They are very hospitable, positive and allways with a smile on their face. Rooms are decent, cleaned dayly. Each room has 42” TV with cable TV. Breakfast is fantastic. The WI-FI internet is fast and available everywhere arround the hotel. Hotel is on the main road to Monschau, 5 minutes walking to the city. Very calm and fresh surrounding.

Nice location in the old center.
Very good location and the staffs are very friendly and polite.
I stayed here for one night for a private event. You can really tell the hotel is in dire need of maintenance and renovation. I assume this is due to the successive bankruptcies and changes in ownership. It seems another crisis is just around the corner. This was particularly noticeable in the bathroom – only a pathetic scrap of toilet paper left in the crooked holder, dust in the floor corners, streaky...
Lovely hotel Lovely hotel well placed for access to the town. I managed to make use of the pool and had it to myself. Room was clean and comfortable. Breakfast had a good choice of food but like many German hotels, no options for those with dietary requirements. We made the mistake of eating our evening meal here and it's fair to say it was basic. A set menu with no option for dietary needs.
An Oke stay. A place to sleep. Don’t expect much. Good value for service
we only faced one inconvenient with the elevator because it was out of service and we were in the 5th floor, but other than that, everything was great.

Very charming hotel. Loved the location!
The Bad • Public parking is about 200 m away, but you can conveniently drop your luggage at the hotel entrance before parking. • No elevator – if you’re staying on the 3rd floor (where the best rooms are), be ready for a little workout. This quaint little hotel was such a gem! Nestled right along the river in a charming small town, it had a warm and welcoming feel. There are many restaurant options nearby as well on property and the breakfast each morning was fresh and delicious—perfect for starting the day.
Excellent location and the staff were friendly and efficient. We ate in the restaurant too which was delicious. However our room was old and tired and very expensive for the price.
We stayed at this hotel for the 3rd time, everytime another room and experience. Pity that 5 persons apartment was not in main building and without bath and tea facilities. Beds were excellent, far better than regular hotels. River view is also very nice. Half board is a good add on but slightly expensive.
The accommodations here are very cozy, with comfortable beds, hot showers, and reasonably fast Internet. Location is everything for this property as it’s right in the middle of a quaint village with lots of charm. The restaurant provides good basic cooking at reasonable prices. Most anyone would be very happy to stay in the hotel.

Staying at the Best Time Hotel in Monschau was… well, a pretty good time. It’s one of those modern, budget-friendly spots that balances comfort with practicality — nothing fancy, but it does what it promises. What you see is what you get. It’s a historic building. As long as you don’t expect modern luxurious rooms, you’re okay. Old fashioned decorated interior and rooms. But it suits the experience. Bathrooms are a little too small though.
Good service! Parking is quite far away and you can not come close by car since it’s closed off. Room was okay, bit noisy and creaky, and no airco. But overall had a pleasant stay!
Really a classical, beautiful and perfect hotel totally much to the town. I truly love this hotel.
No English even basic. They didn't even try. And vanity products are very low quality and quantity. Why not put shower gel and a shampoo dispenser? So much better for the environment than small plastic low quality products made in China.
Fabulous rooms etc but if even slightly immobile...maybe not appropriate (but could be said of all hotels). Restaurant only open peak seasons. Very traditional. Breakfast was excellent!

Wonderful hotel stay. Everything was clean, comfortable, and well thought out. We enjoyed the balcony to relax with a drink at the end of the day. My wife was so happy to have a kettle and coffee in the room.
You will not be disappointed. Spotlessly clean. Everything you need. Good shower. Delightful hosts. Andrea could not do more. Very welcoming. Delicious breakfast. A real home from home. Even though hotel on road into Monschau it had good double glazing and shutters.
We stayed for just one night during our journey from the UK, touring around Germany. This is a lovely little hotel on the edge of Monschau. The hotel sits in the town of Schmidt which is very pleasant and quiet. The staff were pleasant , friendly and helpful. The availability of an evening meal was a pleasant surprise and was very good. We had a lovely week at Dormio Eifeler Tor. The park itself is well maintained, has a nice pool to cool off on hotter days and also a good selection of bakery items / coffee to go for the mornings, making for a comfortable stay. For kids - ours range in age from 0 to 7 - there is plenty to do even though the park is on the small side. We made good use of the pool, the soccer cage and the two playgrounds...
All in all, quite ok experience, mainly the location, the house itself, the things to do in the resort and in the surroundings, but also quite some things to improve: - Internet quality is completely unacceptable for year 2025, having to reconnect every few minutes and then still not able to load much - The pools could use a couple of extra slides or toys for the kids, one small waterslide for 4 pools...
Fulfills the purpose, overall quite ok, but a few minor shortcomings that were not really necessary and do not allow more than three stars: For example, there were too few dishwasher tabs included for a week --- but the dishwasher didn't work properly anyway (only one dishwashing program left, with the tab not being ejected properly, so the dishwashing result was rather poor). No hair dryer, fan...
Great resort on the outskirts of Heimbach, with an amazing view over Hasenfeld village. Great base for cyclist ready to do some climbing (❤️ climbs to Mariawald, Schmidt, and Kermeter). The resort is very kid friendly, which, unfortunately, led us to wake up every morning around 5 AM due to crying babies 🤣. Supermarket on premises was OK, better to go to supermarkets in Hasenfeld.
The location ist very nice. A big downside for families with kids is that many guests park their cars all day and night in front of the guest houses, although this is officially not allowed. But there seems to be no enforcement of car parking rules, thus nobody makes sure, that cars stop at the houses only for un/loading and are driven to the big parking space across the road.
We had an amazing experience in this resort. There was some confusion when we arrived We arrived late, so there was a bit of waiting to get the directions cleared, but once we got into contact with the reception by phone, things were sorted out. It would have been better to have personnel at the desk at all times, but that's the system they applied. The houses are situated on a hill, so the drove down...

A simple hotel, but fine for the price. Breakfast was better than expected.
The room was functionally furnished and very clean. The bathroom was very clean, but it was clearly missing hooks for hanging towels and washcloths. There wasn't enough storage space for cosmetics. Dear Dömens family, thank you so much for your wonderful hospitality. I'm already looking forward to being your guest again. I will definitely recommend this guesthouse. Thank you very much and best regards, Dirk Masson and Gerd Lünemann.
Very friendly and helpful hosts Fair prices A beautifully furnished living room, fully equipped kitchen, and a beautiful bathroom create a cozy, pleasant atmosphere For family reasons, I frequently stay in the Eschweiler, Stolberg, and Aachen area. Pension Doemens is now—by far—my personal number one accommodation.
The guesthouse is in a very quiet location. The shower, kitchen, and living room are shared by all the guests. The only possible criticism is that conversations from the room can easily be heard from outside, even when spoken quietly.
Prima.
I have really enjoyed staying here. Had a small and cosy private room on the 2nd floor. It was clean and very warm. On the 1st floor there is a spatious kitchen with all one need to roast, boil or bake. Nice living room nearby. The Ms. Doemens was really nice and polite.

Lovely breakfast, lovely room. The only problem is the noise from the street wagons loading stuff to a shop early in the morning.
Hurtig check-in Rent Behageligt
Great little place very clean. Great breakfast loads to choose from.
Nice hotel in center of very nice city.
The only suggestion I have for improvement is the pillows — they were very uncomfortable, and I had neck pain both nights because of them. Other than that, the hotel was nice and a good value for the price we paid. The breakfast was plentiful, and parking was very easy.
Clean and modern rooms, very friendly staff, good breakfast all for a very reasonable price

Great experience!! The facilities are excellent, The room is amazing!! All in the room looks and smells brand new. ultra comfortable
Rotes Einhorn is the best! Highly recommend Hotel Rotes Einhorn. They took great care of us and were very helpful all of the time, all of the staff. Thanks for the comfortable stay!
Well located in a quiet area, not far from the city. Well equipped rooms, with a kitchenette. Restaurants nearby.
Basic facilities and breakfast was very limited with poor choices in an airless small room which could not seat all the guests.
This place is great. Super clean and hosts are very friendly. Enjoyed my stay very much. Recommended.
Perfect room and breakfast only the internet connection was a nasty problem didn't get a good solution makes it very difficult when you're traveling for business

Beautiful setting, admirable menu, super sevice from the waiters who are very friendly and attentive! My favorite is their French Onion Soup, and there is great salad bar.
Situated just outside City with Park & Ride a few minutes walk with very frequent bus service into the City centre. Made very welcome on arrival and directed to pleasant, spacious room. The restaurant was good for our evening meal and a good breakfast provided.
Decent hotel that has seen better days. A bit pricy for the location in my opinion, but as breakfast was included I guess it was fair.
This hotel is exceptionally clean. Room is nice and big. The only con is the smell. There’s a very strong smell of soap on the hallway and in the room. But after two days your nose kind of get used to it. Breakfast is included, offering a good and healthy selection of food. The restaurant is always busy but waiters are plenty. Worth noting: no one wears mask now. A few minutes walk away, there is a...
Great food and service! Salad buffet offered. Varous deserts and cakes. Relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommend this place!
Very good for lunch after a funeral. It is in walkable distance (4 minutes of walking). Everyone liked the food and having a small room to ourselves helped a lot.

The staff is very nice and helpfull. We had a very warm welcome. After checking in we brought our luggage to the room and went to the restaurant for diner. The food was amazing, I loved the Aachener Sauerbraten. The meat was so tender and the sauce was really complimenting the meat instead of overpowering. And the creme brulee for dessert was so nice and sweet. One of the best I have tasted in a while...
2 Major issues: 1-It was claimed to have a swimming pool durin booking. The lady told it's closed and that's it. (If so, why am I fooled?) 2-Too much dust on the table and you can see fingerprints, maybe not wiped in 2 weeks. Could be cleaner.
I recently stayed here before hiking the Eifelsteig and I was very happy with my stay. It's not a super luxurious place, but it provided all I needed and the staff was especially friendly and helpful. The lady at the reception seemed as excited about my hike as I was :-) The lunch package was also great. It gave me plenty of fuel for my day on the trail.
After reading the reviews here I expected the worst. But I was pleasantly surprised: Super comfy bed (slept like a rock), good smelling room, quiet surroundings, friendly staff, even a bathtub. Of course you can't expect a 5 star hotel and I wouldn't spend an entire vacation here, but for the price we paid (63€ one night for 2 people) it was absolutely great.
Older hotel with all the amenities, but could use some room upgrades. Mattress was soft, bathroom was small and should have a shower curtain to be able to take a normal shower without making the whole bathroom wet. Parking can be a challenge since there is only street parking and the roads are pretty busy around the hotel. But apart from one evening I had parking in front of the entrance. Friendly...
Had a lovely stay at this place. Staff were excellent. Our son who has autism and LD didn’t like the evening meal, but that wasn’t a problem Eileen who was very friendly and helpful cooked him something he did like. Thank you Eileen from Mark.. Bedrooms were basic but clean, tidy and warm, and the shower was clean and water hot. Bedding was also clean and fresh. Pillows were the best I have ever...

The room was ok. They don’t make room every day. Not much of amenities around and running by some moody and unfriendly women. Most German are very friendly n warmed people but not at this hotel. Yesterday we went swimming in the dark without light, a young Asian girl came down to turn in the light. She didn’t apologize at all for the inconvenience and instead she was yelling n screaming at me about...
It’s conveniently located, near the highway but close enough to the old town. It’s a little dated but nice enough and clean. quiet neighborhood and parking available right in front. The parking is on a steep hill which was a bit of a challenge for us, but our car has lower ground clearance than most.
Loved this hotel, it's really great the staff were so helpful, polite and gave great information when requested, rooms were clean, beds were soft and comfortable.
We had a nice stay at the Art hotel. The room was lovely and very nice breakfast. The beds were very comfortable and a really nice bathroom. However, what stood out were the staff. We had some car issues and they really went out of their way to help us get this sorted. It was really so appreciated to have this support and help when travelling in a different country to home. I cannot recommend this...

Playing the “we have two hotels” game. Even the first photo is from a different hotel — a 4-star one, not the 3-star property under this address. They advertise a sauna and fitness room for this address on booking sites, but apparently those facilities are actually in the other hotel. It’s clean, but that’s about it.
The new guy Muhammad is very decent guy and he does his work professionally and he has very good communications skills the food and goos all are great and taste just perfect. Very recommend
I was at an wedding event and I didn't sleep there but the first impressions was very good.
The hotel has a new and an old building. I stayed in the new one. The room was good and clean. The breakfast was worth the extra. Something for everybody, hot and cold, was served in the new building. The staff was professional. The restaurant is located in the old building but i haven't had a meal there. I can recommend this hotel.
Just for one night, but surprisingly cosy, great service and menu. And a great terrace for parents with children. We will be back
All dishes were made to perfection. The sliced roast beef is especially good and tender. This restaurant has room for medium to large size groups.

staff was great , no kitchen utilities including no kettle, both double beds was just 2 single beds pushed together , pillows was pathetic and x2 single duvets for a kind size bed . very dissapointed with the sleeping facilities .
Clean comfortable hotel with friendly staff and good service had a great meal in the restaurant.
Stopped here a few times and last night used the restaurant for the first time. Waiter was grumpy that we hadn’t reserved a table, it was busy and we may need to wait. His manner and tone of voice was disappointing.
The hotel is very good as a space for families with one or two children, but it is difficult to deal with the reception. The treatment is dry and rough.
Really lovely hotel. So much space in rooms and very friendly professional staff. Have stayed here twice now and would happily return.
very nice hotel near the outer ring of the city. Only about a 10 minute drive to downtown, 15-20 minutes to RWTH. My room was spacious with a separate bedroom. There was a small kitchen but there were absolutely no plates, utensils, pots, etc. The dining room did let me take a fork, knife and plate to keep in my room. Underground parking is available for €15 per night.

Very bare bones accommodation. Expensive for what it was. Internet didn't work in the room. Had to make up our own beds and bring linen down at the end of our stay. Breakfast was good continental style.
Friendly hostel Very spacious room (for 4 people, but there were 2 of us), simply furnished, located on the ground floor. Bathroom accessible to disabled people (unrequested), so toilet and shower are in the same place (which is not the case in standard rooms). No soap or cups. Breakfast included in the price: quite comprehensive but different depending on the day (with or without eggs, etc.) but only...
Beautiful youth hostel on the outskirts of town, surrounded by greenery. The staff is extremely friendly, competent, and accommodating. The clean room is spacious and very quiet. The breakfast is delicious and leaves nothing to be desired. The bus stop is a 4-minute walk away.
Anyone booking an overnight stay at a youth hostel should be aware that it's a youth hostel. So, don't expect a spa, a king-size bed, or a TV in your room. However, it's a reasonably priced place to stay, and relatively quiet. One thing to keep in mind is that you need to bring your own bed linen and be able to change it. The breakfast was delicious and plentiful, the service friendly, and I'd be happy...
The breakfast was more than what I expected. Very recommended. See you there / see you then.
Beautifully furnished room. The highlight was the bunk bed hidden behind sliding doors. The kids loved it. They said it was like being in a hotel. The sinks, etc., were clean, and there were two of them. We were even asked in the morning if our bathroom needed cleaning. The downside is the non-working Wi-Fi and the broken TV in the games room and common room. (That reminds you that you're in Germany...
