The hostel was really clean and the rooms were great. There’s a nice little biergarten/cafe at the bottom of the hostel and the employees are really nice and helpful. It’s only a couple of minutes from the S-Bahn. Highly recommend for your next stay in Leipzig.
One of the best Hostel in city! Good price, excellent staff, really recommended. Only thing is if you prefer the "centrum" experience, maybe look for other options.
In Homeplanet you will get a unique experience of what Leipzig is all about, friendly ppl, all that. I would give 5/5 but I realize some in ppl prefer the city center experience with all the commodities (and noise :) around so this is why 4. Perfect place, but maybe you in particular have a particular taste. Neighborhood is quite punk, revolutionary, friendly, but the be aesthetics may or may not be for everybody.
Still, I recommend this experience from my all my Heart. For me, 5 stars, but I think about everyone here reading this review so 4 ^^

very well-designed place in a great location. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Only minus-point is a angry ranting guy that seems to be the handyman there.
We stayed two nights at Homeplanet Hostel in the Egypt Apartment.

- The beds were just cruel. The double bed was just too small for two people and the matress was probably quite old. With every turn, the bed made loud noises and was very uncomfortable
- One of the single beds in the apartment almost fell apart
- With the apartment at the street side of the house, it became very loud at night with the tram, the busses, and cars driving by, even with the windows closed

We were desperately looking for a place to stay at half past ten at night when we around this little hostel. Super nice staff and great prices. Clean and well equipped. Our room smelled a bit of scented candles, but I think it was just to fit in with the atmosphere of this hostel.
A good experience! Natural and friendly atmosphere. The kitchen is equipt with everything and coffe and chocolare drink is free. No cameras in your face. easy to use, safe and big lockers with free locks. Smoker friendly (tables with ashtrays on every floor in the staircase), people I highly recommend you to visit the home planet because this quality hostel service is rare and unique.
The area surrounding the Hostels is similar to the West Berlin Neighborhoods of the end of the 70s.Great Atmosphere!! The home planet adds accordingly. I immediately felt comfortable. The room was lovingly decorated and above all clean. The shower was designed in the style of Gaudi/Hundertwasser. Claudia ( on the phone / mail ) and Jane ( on the spot ) were incredibly nice. I knew not whether I can check in within the time in which the reception is occupied. You gave me to understand that there is always a solution. The Breakfast buffet ( Sunday) was very tasty. I would love to come again :-)
