Aktaion Hotel in Ermoupoli

We called by chance at this hotel and were greeted with helpful courtesy from the start. We stayed three nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. We had a room at the back of the hotel with balcony which was really quiet especially considering the location on the harbour front. The room was immaculately clean. Breakfast was also excellent. We would definitely stay here again.

Really, really enjoyed our stay. Beautiful location on the waterfront. The building itself is over 150 years old but has been restored. Seems the rooms are a variety of sizes. Ours was spacious with a view of the waterfront. The included breakfast was delicious and very filling. I had bread with jam, OJ, coffee, large omelet and fruit. The staff was incredibly professional and accommodating. The price made it one of the best values of any hotel that I've stayed with.

Syros is a lovely, lively island and the Aktaion is in a superb location on the harbour. If you arrive by boat you can easily walk to the hotel. Being on the harbour front there are many many bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk. The rooms are classically furnished and decorated. On the front of the hotel there are two superb single rooms. Ensuite shower rooms are spacious and spotlessly clean. The shower has as plenty of water and the heat of the water is easily adjusted. I 100% advise that you take breakfast. It is a la carte and includes,juice and tea or coffee. To eat there are croissants and breads and muffins and ham and bacon and cheese. All this and you are helped by the most friendly team imaginable. One word of warning....there is no elevator and the is a long, steep set of stairs to get up. The guys on the desk are wonderful at helping with luggage, but they re probably not going to carry you. Can t wait to go back.

The rooms are really clean and organised. The decoration simple but elegant. The location is central and a walking distance from the port.

But most importantly the people working there are incredible.

Clean, centrally-located, friendly staff, and historic building!! We chose a room with a sea view and were extremely satisfied. There are quite a bit of stairs you have to climb to get to most of the rooms but it added to the historical touch. Despite being on the main road, we didn’t hear the sounds of the street at night and were able to sleep soundly. The room was extremely clean and there was a definite attention to detail- vanity kits and toothbrush sets were even present in the bathroom. The breakfast in the morning was also delicious and the staff were very pleasant! We will definitely visit again. 😊

Wonderful hotel located at the best place of the city and close to free parking area. Absolutely clean, silent, friendly and professional staff, excellent breakfast. I highly recommend it!

Really nice room with great view! Breakfast was amazing; included toast with jams, tea, coffee, a choice between eggs and bacon, grilled cheese, and croissants. You could ask for yogurt and fruit if you would like as well. Everything was delicious. The wifi was the worst part, however, since it very rarely seemed to work. At night it almost never worked. Great stay overall.

Great hotel with a nice view and extended delicious breakfast. Also the staff is always helpful.

Lovely hotel. Right down town. Really cute and spacious rooms. Good amenities. Solid choice.

The hotel is situated within walking distance from the ferry. We were warmly received by the lady and her family who run the hotel. The hotel is very clean and pleasant and surrounded by stores and restaurants. It is also within walking distance from the many of the attractions.
We will love to come and stay here again.
