The Lekka Hotel & Spa in Athens

Extremely poor customer service and unethical handling of cancellations.

I had to cancel my reservation due to a force-majeure itinerary change, which I reported several days in advance and supported with official flight documentation proving I only passed briefly through Athens a couple of days after. Despite this, the hotel refused to issue any refund.

I called multiple times with no response and even visited the hotel lobby in person days later, explaining that this involved a significant amount of money. The receptionist refused to help, refused to provide the name or contact details of any manager or supervisor, and even refused to identify himself.

There are no visible names, emails, or phone numbers to escalate complaints. It was very clear this is standard practice, not an exception.

I strongly do not recommend this hotel if you expect transparency, accountability, or fair treatment when problems arise.

Overall the room was fine but the staff was beyond unfriendly. They would not smile, not be attentive to needs, and would smirk at you if you could not open the door into the hotel, which was always locked. Unbelievable. The rooms were not very clean but considering the price I understand. Will not recommend this stay to anyone.

Basics first. The hotel is adjacent an afterhours (11pm - 5am) party club and no sound proofing. It was not just loud, it is constant yelling in your face loud. We requested a room change, it took 3 days, and it was a move from 2nd to 5th floor, same location and problem. Worth noting, no electrical outlets in bath so hair dryer has to be used in main rooms. We had 1 chair and footstool and had to ask twice so we could both sit.

Our stay at this hotel was one of the worst experiences I’ve ever had. We were given an accessible room even though we never booked one, and the condition of the room was completely unacceptable. It smelled bad, it was not clean, and it clearly had not been prepared properly for guests. For the price we paid, this was beyond disappointing.

When we raised the issue, the manager was extremely rude, unhelpful, and unprofessional. Instead of trying to solve the problem, he spoke to us with an attitude and made us feel like we were the problem. We decided to leave the hotel because the room was simply unlivable and they couldnt change our room nor send us to a different partner hotel.

What made the situation even worse was that they refused to refund us and refused to provide written confirmation that we had checked out, even though we left the property immediately due to the unacceptable room conditions. This caused unnecessary stress and is completely unacceptable from a hotel that should at least follow basic customer service standards.

I would strongly advise avoiding this hotel. Between the dirty room, the bad smell, the wrong room type, the rude manager, and their refusal to handle the situation professionally, this was an absolutely awful experience. I will never stay here again.

The location is very convenient, however:
1. Extremely small room. There is no place to open your luggage. The room design looks attractive in the pictures, but in reality, finishes are very cheap. The window has a width of maximum 60cm, overlooking an open air tiny “shaft”…

2.Unacceptable Compensation for Breakfast Closure: 2 days before check in, we were extremely disappointed to learn by email, that breakfast was closed for “technical” reasons.
As a compensation, we were given a “voucher” to be used at the nearby bakery, with only the choice of having 1 coffee, 1 juice and 1 small sandwich. And on top of that, no place to sit at this bakery. We finally bought muffins at this bakery, and ate them back at the hotel tiny lobby. We’ve requested cutlery from the receptionist, who seemed to be annoyed by our request…
This was clearly unacceptable.

ABSOLUTELY NOT WORTH A 4 STARS HOTEL!
