We had an incredible stay at AthensWas Hotel. From the moment we arrived, the service was exceptional.

We were celebrating our anniversary, and the team truly went above and beyond. We were upgraded to a better room, and every interaction felt warm and genuine. The staff spoke excellent English, was incredibly friendly, and always eager to help.

During our stay there was a taxi strike in Athens, and the hotel stepped in to secure transportation for us both to the hotel and to the airport. It removed what could have been a major stress point.

We also had to leave before breakfast for an early flight, and they thoughtfully prepared boxed breakfasts for us the night before and had them ready at checkout.

Beautiful hotel, outstanding service, and a team that truly cares. We would absolutely stay here again.

We had a wonderful holiday. The location is in the most elegant, accessible, and spacious part of the historic district. It is only 150 meters from the entrance of the Acropolis and the Acropolis Museum, and you can easily reach Plaka, Monastiraki, Psiri, and Syntagma with a pleasant walk. Transportation from the airport is very simple via the M3 metro line (you can get off at Syntagma and walk, or transfer to the M2 Red Line, get off at the Acropolis station, and reach the hotel with a 1.5-minute walk).

The staff are extremely polite and helpful. We would especially like to thank Anna and (if I remember correctly, apologies if I’m mistaken) Ares, who work in the breakfast area. The hotel is fantastic in terms of concept and design.

A small tip for those considering a reservation: breakfast is served à la carte. We found it a bit challenging on the first day as well, but thanks to Anna, everything became very easy. The food quality and presentation are outstanding (breakfast is served at “Sense Restaurant,” which is already listed in the Michelin Guide).

From check-in to check-out, we had a wonderful holiday thanks to the excellent service of all the staff. We would like to thank the management for embracing such a high standard of quality and service.

Our stay at AthensWas Design Hotel was nothing short of perfection !! a true 5-star experience from start to finish. The moment we arrived, we were greeted with warmth and professionalism that set the tone for our entire visit. Our room was spotless, complete with a beautiful balcony overlooking the Acropolis, offering one of the most breathtaking views in all of Athens.

The restaurant on the 6th floor was an absolute highlight ! The food was divine, and the atmosphere felt both elegant and relaxed, making every meal memorable. The staff went above and beyond for us in every possible way. Even when we needed a taxi at 3 a.m. to the airport, they made it happen seamlessly , and to our surprise, they even offered us breakfast before we left!

To make our honeymoon extra special, the team surprised us with a bottle of sparkling wine upon arrival, which was such a thoughtful and heartwarming touch. And one detail that truly stood out... the clean, crisp white towels that were always available (a small thing, but a luxury that never went unnoticed!).

Athens Was Design Hotel is the perfect combination of modern elegance, exceptional service, and genuine hospitality. We couldn’t have chosen a better place to celebrate such a special trip. Highly, highly recommended!

We had a wonderful experience at this hotel. Our room was comfortable, modern and quiet despite the fact the hotel is in a busy area. The location was perfect for us....it was a short walk to the Acropolis museum and even shorter distance to the hop on bus we used during our stay. The entrance to the Plaka was also just down the street and the walk was longer but still easy to our tour at the Acropolis. Breakfast and dinner are served on the enclosed rooftop with a outstanding view of the Acropolis. I had to pinch myself the first morning we were there to believe I was gazing at that famous ancient site while drinking my coffee. Wow. We enjoyed our breakfast (with multiple options to select) but because of sightseeing didn't try lunch (served under a large canopy in front of the hotel) or dinner. There's a yogurt/sweet shop next door, a pharmacy nearby and lots of restaurants in this busy neighborhood that felt safe and comfortable to be in even at night. And finally, the service we experienced was exceptional. I booked the hotel myself and had lots of questions and needs for booking transportation from the airport and to the port. I received quick and courteous email responses, assurances and was offered options. Marisanti, at the front desk, was gracious and so helpful. She showed us a map and gave directions, answered questions, offered suggestions and was able to get us in our room a bit early after a long flight. We had looked at other hotels but felt so lucky we had chosen this little gem in a great location with great service.

The hotel is small but exquisite, with only 21 rooms, but very exquisite, the rooms are not small, the sanitary facilities are good, and there is a balcony. The breakfast room can overlook the Acropolis, and the a la carte breakfast tastes good.

I highly recommend this hotel! The location is really great, just 200 meters from the entrance to the Acropolis. Really, I was shocked when the front desk pointed it out to me, it's so close. The view from the restaurant is especially good! You can see the Acropolis. The breakfast is also very good, it is cooked to order, the waiter is very patient, will listen to your needs carefully, and recommend delicious breakfast according to your preferences. I highly recommend yogurt, although Greek yogurt tastes light, but it is really delicious mixed with honey, fruits and nuts! The only weakness of the hotel is that it is a little small, with only a few rooms. The advantage is that the breakfast is not crowded, but the disadvantage is that it is small and the rooms are also small. In addition, the attractions in Athens are relatively concentrated and can be reached on foot. It only costs 5 euros to take a taxi, but it is very expensive to take a taxi after 3 pm, as if the driver is off work.
