Academias Hotel, Autograph Collection in Athens

My family and I stayed here for a sightseeing trip. Overall, we had a wonderful experience.
The staff were incredibly welcoming and gave us excellent dinner recommendations. Our room was spotless and the beds were remarkably comfortable.
I would definitely stay here again!

This is a very nice hotel. Everyone is genuinely sweet, kind and helpful. Professional too. The gym is great, sauna is amazing and breakfast was perfect. Room was beautifully designed, cosy, comfortable bed and very good pillows!

I've traveled to approximately 40 countries and stayed in various five-star hotels worldwide, but the Academias Hotel, Autograph Collection is one of the worst five-star experiences I've ever had.

First, there's the noise issue: parties were held in the upstairs restaurant, with music and noise continuing until midnight, even into the late hours, making it impossible for me to sleep. For travelers, basic rest quality is the bare minimum a hotel should guarantee, but this hotel forced guests to endure prolonged noise disturbances in their rooms, directly undermining the core value of the accommodation.

Second, there's the air conditioning/temperature control issue: On my first day, the room was extremely hot, which I completely couldn't understand why the air conditioning was set so stuffy in Greece's approximately 11°C weather; however, the air conditioning was later locked at 20°C, becoming very cold and difficult to adjust. Even more absurdly, because the room couldn't be properly temperature-controlled, I had to go downstairs almost every night to ask the front desk staff to adjust the air conditioning. This repeated inconvenience and disruption is a completely unacceptable basic oversight for a five-star hotel.

Thirdly, there's the issue of counter operations and service attitude: I clearly informed the counter two days prior that I wanted to extend my stay for one more day without changing rooms. However, on the day of the extension, my room key card wouldn't work, forcing me to return to the counter to update/replace it. This is a very basic procedure that should have been completed beforehand. Worse still, the counter staff were indifferent, impatient, and lacked basic courtesy and respect when assisting with the card replacement, making me feel like I wasn't a paying guest but rather an intruder. This internal communication breakdown coupled with poor frontline service is completely unacceptable for a five-star hotel.

I understand the hotel may have offered compensation afterward, but I want to emphasize that travelers choosing to stay at five-star hotels don't prioritize "receiving some compensation," but rather expect a quiet, comfortable, and consistent quality of accommodation from the outset, along with professional and respectful service. Compensation cannot erase nights tormented by noise, nor can it compensate for the disappointment of being interrupted every night by air conditioning problems and the overall ruined experience.

I will not return to the hotel, nor will I recommend it to anyone. We hope the management team will address issues such as "noise control for late-night activities," "air conditioning system and room temperature control authority," "stay extension procedures and internal handover," and "service attitude and training of front desk staff," because the current standard does not meet the expectations of a five-star hotel.

The location is good, making travel convenient. The service is good, the rooms are clean, and the facilities in the guest rooms are complete.

The location is excellent, making it easy to explore every inch of the city's scenery; the hotel's warm and thoughtful service is refreshing, and it pays attention to every detail of hygiene management. Although the guest rooms are slightly small, every furnishing reveals the exquisiteness and beauty of life. (〃'▽'〃)

Very satisfying experience

Very welcoming staff, kind and polite. Amazing lobby bar and rooftop restaurant were fantastic. The room was comfortable, especially the bed and the bathroom was very spacious. Loved it here!

A very nice hotel right in the centre of Athens. All the main attractions are within walking distance. The staff are very helpful and pleasant and the rooftop lounge has great drinks and food. The only downside would be that the hotel and rooms are a bit small but considering the detail and design it is still a pretty nice place to stay.

The hotel is nice and has a great atmosphere but the people made the difference! From the reception at night with a smooth check in and explanations to the great breakfast. Warm, friendly and genuine. The view from the rooftop bar is amazing and breathtaking, the rooms are clean and comfortable but we will be back because of the great team. Thank you for everything! This was a great place to stay. We were able to walk to the Acropolis and other great areas from here.
The staff was great. The bar in the lobby was fun. Our room was great. It was clean and quiet.
The rooftop bar was great. The service was quick, and the bartender was very nice.
