The location was perfect, very near metro station to get to and from airport. It was also within walking distance to Acropolis, Minastiraki, restaurants etc. The street turned lively at night with the little stalls selling souvenirs. The staffs were friendly. Aesthetically the room wasn’t the best and was quite small BUT it had everything we needed for 7 days trip.

It was a very bad 1 night stay! we booked economy room for 2 people, 15 Sq. metres. We wer given a terrible room 2.2m x 2.7m = 5.94 (!)Sq. metres with a very noisy AC, not SOUNPROOFED as promised. There were no place to put our luggage at all, no closet, very outdated bathroom... the staff doesn't care at all...DON'T BOOK THIS SO CALLED HOTEL!!! SAVE YOUR NERVES, MONEY AND SELF ESTEEM!!!

The location was perfect! The staff was kind and helpful! Our only complaint would be that the shower didn’t have a door so the water got all over the floor. The AC didn’t work great, but we were there during extremely hot weather.

We have just returned from four nights at the Phidias and it was truly awful. I booked it in November 2024 for my wife's birthday. I contacted them and told them I wanted to book a double room with a veranda and a view of the Parthenon, we had stayed in 2006 and had a lovely holiday. They wrote back to me requesting a €125 deposit which I sent via bank transfer and they confirmed my booking in writing. When we arrived at the hotel, the young lady could find no trace of our booking, or our deposit. I showed her the booking which I had printed off and a copy of the bank transfer. For half an hour we stood while she tapped away at the computer. She then told us there was no booking, at that point another member of staff appeared, more discussion, she then offered me a room with no view, I pointed out we had booked and paid for a veranda room with Parthenon view, she then said they had changed our booking. More discussion, she then gave us a room that she said someone else had booked ( I didn't understand it either). Furthermore we were asked to pay the balance, in full and the price, miraculously, had gone up. In hindsight we should have written off the deposit and just gone to a different hotel, of which there are many When we got to the room, the safe, which was tiny, didn’t work, another trip back to reception. We then went out to eat, determined not to let this spoil our holiday. We have been to Athens several times and will go again but never to this hotel. The next morning I was approached by another receptionist, asking if I had proof that we paid the deposit, again I showed her the written proof. At no time were we offered an apology for the inconvenience. The hotel itself was tired and dirty and it felt as if the staff had just given up. The breakfast was adequate but again, cleanliness was an issue. The rooms were neglected and barely clean, the towels were, well, I can't describe them so have attached pictures. Avoid this place at all costs, it's awful, the only good thing about it is it's location and it could be a lovely hotel, if the owners cared.

We were referred to this location by a friend and due to a ton going on in our lives, I rolled with it and didn't do my due diligence like I normally do. That is totally on me and I will never do that again. One time off my game and we paid for it. The area is amazing! This hotel is so bad. Avoid this place! It's terrible. 1. We checked our luggage and went on a tour. We arrived back and we were informed that the key was missing and we could not get our luggage. That a guest took the key with them. There were four couples waiting to retrieve their luggage form this room. They don't have an additional key. No remedy or solution was given other then to wait. No idea where these guests were as a return time. They just give a key and no one tags or controls the luggage storage. 2. They were trying to scam one of our friends by telling them that there was no electricity in their room and they would have to switch locations. We all as a group jumped in and I think they realized that was not going to work and changed the story. They do that and then charge you twice. 3. Our room had no air conditioning. We've traveled across Europe and are accustomed to the room AC's and understand the difference. This was not an expectation issue. All other rooms of the people we traveled with had a remote. Our room did not and it would not turn on. We were told no worries -tomorrow. Tomorrow came and it wasn't fixed and we were told come on this room is perfect. It's cooled down tonight. You're fine. We paid for AC and expect AC. 4. The staff was rude. We did not encounter any of this with people in Greece besides the Phidias. Everyone else from restraurants and to the other hotel we stayed at provided great customer service and went above and beyond. 5. The last morning I was getting ready and packing up and there was a bed bug. I took video and stood and use Google lens. We told the receptionist and she did not care at all. There is nothing good about this establishment besides the location. Don't book here.

I booked one night at this hotel to be close to fiends who were staying nearby and to then fly back home the next day. When I landed at the Athens airport from Naxos airport, my super nice taxi driver sent by this hotel (I had reserved a transport) told me that there was a problem with my room. I then spoke with the hotel staff by phone and they said they would put me up in another hotel far from the area I needed to be to be close to my friends. Very poor customer Service that was not curteous or apologetic at all. I ended up cancelling that night and spending it with my friends at their Airbnb. The story is that the hotel was overbooked and under new management. This should have been communicated at least the day before and not 30 minutes before my arrival at the hotel.

Beware! This hotel is running a scam. Very dishonest management taking advantage of the good location to scam tourists. I booked it two months in advance. Got to the hotel and they claimed they had an issue and that they didn’t have a room for me. They gave me two possible “choices” 1- Go somewhere else 2- Go to another hotel owned by them, stay the night and come back the following day and the room should be ready The are basically charging people for the well located hotel and sending them to the other mediocre hotel, located in a really bad neighborhood, for the same (very high) price you paid for the prime location. They would not refund part of the money or offer any other solution. Please search other reviews for the word “scam” and you will see this has happened many times before to fellow travelers.

Phidias Hotel is a fantastic choice in the heart of Athens! Great location, friendly staff, and clean, comfortable small rooms. Perfect for exploring the city!

The first night they sent us to another hotel, 12 minutes from the hotel we reserved, in a drug sales area, dangerous, you couldn't walk. We left at dawn to another place, there was no taxi, we had to walk and some thieves followed us. All this happened because the hotel we booked with ******* lied to us, they didn't have a room for us and they sent us to a dangerous hotel that was not the hotel we booked with you.
