Tropical Hotel in Athens

We recently stayed at Tropical Hotel and had a wonderful experience overall. Compared to many other places we visited in Athens, Santorini, and Crete, this hotel truly stands out as modern, comfortable, and well-designed. It feels like a proper hotel rather than a collection of apartments converted into rooms.

The rooms were spotless and fresh, with a real bed, a fully functioning, well-designed bathroom, and a large balcony. I appreciated the thoughtful touches such as robes and slippers, which added to the comfort. Everything felt new and clean, which is something I highly value.

The location is another highlight—very close to the beach, making it easy to enjoy the seaside atmosphere. The hotel also offers luggage storage if you arrive early, and for a small fee, you can use the breakfast service before check-in, which was a nice convenience.

Breakfast itself was delicious and plentiful, though it could use a little more attention from staff. Tables weren’t cleaned as quickly as expected, and fresh eggs didn’t always come out fast enough. We stayed two nights but never managed to try the banitsa, as the small plates disappeared the moment they were brought out. A bit more assistance here would make the experience perfect.

On the downside, the swimming pool was disappointing. The photos gave the impression of a larger rooftop pool, but in reality it was very small—almost microscopic—with only two sunbeds. The water was quite cold due to constant shade, so it was more of a decorative feature than a usable amenity.

Overall, Tropical Hotel is a great choice for anyone looking for a modern, clean, and well-located stay near the beach. The service was excellent, the rooms comfortable, and the little touches made us feel well cared for. With a few small improvements, especially in the breakfast area and pool facilities, it could be truly outstanding.

One night before getting our rental boat for a week in the Greek archipelago, we stayed at hotel tropical.
Clean and well organised hotel. We’re happy to stay there close to the beach and to restaurants with nice menues.

Staff was very helpful and pleasant room was nice spacious. Breakfast was really nice. The pool however could have been situated better as use was based upon whether it clashed with dining times

the staff is super nice and professional the bus stop to and from the airport is less then two min. walk from the hotel the beach is across the street. room was big and comfortable breakfast ok can be more selection and tasty.

Facing the main road was a bit noisy but it’s super close to the marina of your getting a boat.

Excellent stay at Tropical Hotel. Place is adorable, clean and excellent location to beautiful beach. The had the cutest little bar and a quaint restaurant. Food was amazing and homemade by the lovely lady who runs or owns the hotel.
