Eliros Mare Beachfront Poem Hotel in Georgioupolis

Nice five star hotel with direct beach access. The beach is sandy (in some places a small pebbly strip when entering the water). The wifi in the hotel works fine. Our room was spacious, clean and the "don't disturb button" (instead of a sign to put on the door) was comfortable. The food, greek and international, was great at all occasions (don't miss out the traditional greek dinner you can have at the beach bar). Only, during dinner the restaurant could be a bit crowded, loud. Here, a 5* hotel could be a bit more exclusive. The all inclusive service is nice and includes all one can need (on the departure day, there is the option to extend the all inclusive service which would otherwise end at noon). The surrounding of the hotel is not so nice (directly a quite busy road which can be a bit risky to cross, waste lying around), but there is a great supermarket (with souvenirs) there (and a bus stop). We didn't like the excessive use of single plastic in the otherwise marvellous beach bar. There are better re-use options (also without glass). The staff was friendly everywhere, and all in all we can indeed recommend this hotel.

Your hotel is a great place for vacation. The service is excellent. The beach is clean and well-maintained. Drinks are prepared quickly and deliciously.

Upon arrival, we were upgraded to a beautiful room with its own private pool, which was beautifully lit in the evening. We were also welcomed with snacks and bubbles in our room. Very tasty buffet-style food, friendly staff, very helpful!

This was my third stay at Eliros Mare, and yet again it reminded me why I keep coming back: it is one of those rare places where you immediately feel at home while still enjoying the benefits of a beautifully run beachfront resort. The location is absolutely stunning — directly on the long sandy beach of Georgioupolis, with crystal-clear waters and enough space for everyone to relax comfortably. The design of the hotel is elegant and modern, with tasteful natural colours and a calm, airy atmosphere that perfectly matches the surroundings. I once again chose a beachfront room, because nothing compares to stepping outside and being only a few steps from the sea. The view is truly breathtaking, especially at sunrise. Naturally, these rooms are closest to the stage area, so you do hear the evening entertainment more clearly than elsewhere in the hotel — but this is part of the charm of staying right on the waterfront. If you choose this room category, you should be aware of that, but for me the privilege of having the sea at my doorstep far outweighs any background music from the shows. The breakfast deserves a special mention: an excellent selection ranging from fresh fruit, Greek yogurt and honey, to warm delicacies, pastries, omelettes and local specialties. Everything feels thoughtfully prepared, fresh, and beautifully presented — it’s a perfect start to the day. The dinner buffet is equally impressive. Each evening there is variety and quality, with both international dishes and authentic Cretan flavours. You can really taste the emphasis on fresh, local ingredients. The dessert buffet is a highlight in itself — wonderfully crafted sweets, fruits and little surprises that make it hard not to go back for seconds. The staff in the restaurant are friendly, fast and always attentive without ever feeling intrusive. Another strength of Eliros Mare is the professional and welcoming team throughout the hotel — from reception to the the Animation Team. They create a warm and relaxed atmosphere that feels naturally hospitable rather than staged. The cleanliness of both the rooms and the public areas is impeccable, and the beach is maintained with great care. After three visits, I can confidently say that Eliros Mare is a place that combines comfort, taste, and heartfelt service in the best possible way. It’s a hotel where you don’t just stay — you return. And I’m already looking forward to my fourth visit.

My partner and I stayed here in June 2025 and it was absolutely amazing! We were greeted on arrival where our bags were taken to our room and we sat down for a welcome drink and welcomed by staff. Our room was a good size, very clean and had everything we needed, including some nice extras. The staff were really friendly and helpful and went above and beyond for our visit. The main restaurant is great, with a variety of high standard tasty food options that change throughout the week. We also visited the beach restaurant one night which was very special. The food was delicious and our table had a beautiful seaview- very romantic! The animation team is fantastic, very friendly and welcoming. They provide various free sports and activities throughout the day. I tried pilates which was fun and not too intense. They also provide evening entertainment throughout the week. The hotel is located on a beautiful clean beach with plenty of sun-beds and umbrellas, next to the hotel beach cafe/ restaurant. The hotel pool is also lovely with nice comfortable, modern sun-beds and a pool bar. All in all a wonderful hotel- we couldn't fault it! We would definitely recommend it and would love to return again.

Me and partner came here for a week at the start of October. Upon entering the hotel at 11:30pm we were welcomed and checked in really quickly. They had also arranged some food for us which was amazing and really tasty. The room was absolutely beautiful. We had a private pool room which was perfect and exactly what we wanted. We had everything we needed in the room, slippers, robes and toiletries. Only issue we had in the room was the smell. Most days there was a sewage smell when we ran the tap. But it quickly disappeared after a few minutes. The pool area was stunning with super comfy beds as well. It’s only a small pool so not many beds. Food and drinks were good as well. Lots of different varieties so we never went hungry. The beach was lovely with the best sun loungers as well, really comfy which was a bonus. The beach bar was great as well. The staff are absolutely incredible. Always on hand to help with everything! They arranged a trip to Samaria gorge and even did us breakfast and lunch which was sweet. The only downfall was having to pay extra on our last day for all inclusive. We had an evening flight and had to be out of the room by 11am. We opted to leave the room at this time but had to pay €30 for the 2 of us to eat and drink for the day. Slightly disappointing as we missed the all inclusive on the first day of arriving. Overall, really beautiful hotel, great location with incredible staff

We just finished our 1 week holiday in this beautiful hotel. I have prepared myself upfront with negative reviews here below and I can only say - I don’t understand them. Seaside and humidity are doing its job, of course it is more difficult to dry everything properly. Flies and cicadas - it is middle of the nature! Of course there will be some action. Buy yourself mosquito spray in a supermarket across the street and you will be protected from them.
We were a family of 6, and felt really taken care of.
Service was out of the world, everyone was always smiling and friendly. No matter where you order your drinks they remember you and your regular orders. Due to the small size of the hotel you get a personal approach and amazing attention.
We had a room with a private pool, and it was great. Cleaning done once a day, towels are changed twice a day, which was a big plus. Great variety of food choices, enough to switch from time to time your plate. We loved Greek wine bottles selection and enjoyed red and white every day.

As for the sea, yes, you need to get lucky to have a calm sea, we learned that August and September is pretty windy and we were super lucky to have 4 quiet days with crystal clear calm water. All the other days it was very wavy and red flags. That is not the hotel‘s fault though, but if it really matters to you, then it’s good to keep this in mind.

Will be definitely recommending this hotel back home!
