Filoxenia Beach in Rethymno

From the moment we arrived, we received a truly lovely welcome from Eva, who couldn’t do enough for us. She went above and beyond, even recommending and booking us an incredible restaurant that I couldn’t get into myself because it was fully booked. Thanks to her, we had one of the best dining experiences of our trip! The food at the hotel itself was just as memorable. The homemade breakfast was absolutely delicious, and the lunch we enjoyed was also excellent. Everything felt fresh, thoughtful, and full of local flavor. The location is unbeatable — right on the beach — making it the perfect place to relax and soak up the atmosphere. We couldn’t have been more impressed with our stay. We’re already looking forward to visiting again next week!

Such a beautiful hotel we had a fantastic week there. The location is amazing. All the staff were fabulous,nothing too much trouble..Eva the manager was fabulous,so friendly and helpful. The buffet breakfast is lovely and plentiful. Plenty of sunbeds and parasols which were free to use and lots of beach towels available all day. This was a great bonus as many places charge for sunbeds etc. Our room was large ,comfortable and very cool with the much needed air conditioning.Shower was a little small but still useable . There are toilets and a shower available at the hotel when you are on the beach or terrace, which saves you having to go back to your room . Rethymno old town about 25 mins walk . We would get a taxi into town and take a slow walk back when it was cooler. Well worth doing as it's a beautiful town and the sunsets at the port are just amazing. All-in all a beautiful relaxing holiday and would certainly recommend Hotel Filoxenia to everybody. Thanks Eva and all the staff for a great week xxx

This is a little beauty of a hotel. Quirky architecture. Really friendly. Right on the beach. The road outside is a bit of a challenge for pedestrians as it is a major easy west link for Rethymnon but once inside you are in a very nice place. Three levels of complimentary sunbeds to the sandy safe beach.

Good location outside of town. Parking in gravel lot down the street not bad. Short walk and a bit dangerous for unloading luggage in front of hotel in traffic. Owner very nice and very helpful with suggestions of what to do. Other staff helpful in suggesting restaurants within walking distance. Breakfast was good and plentiful. Beach is rocky, but water refreshing. Bed linens could use updating and futon in our room needed to be replaced, but overall a descent place to stay for the price.

wonderful, beautiful views, clean, we had a balcony in the room, small hotel si is quiet , you can enjoy the sea !!

We loved being right on the beach, and the area wasn’t busy which was lovely. At night, the noise levels were very high as the road is right there and it sounded like our windows were open when they would drive past. However, the staff were friendly and helped us call a taxi in the morning to catch our ferry.

Nice room with large balcony and sea view... The best thing about this charming hotel is the staff!! Joanna and Eva take great care of the customer! Available and smiling! We are like family but it is not intrusive. The breakfast is great with fresh salty products and homemade sugars☺we recommend without hesitation!!! Thank you again for offering us this great stay 😁

From start to finish it was beautiful! Eva and her father were extremely welcoming, absoloutly stunning views amazing food and very accomadating. Walking distance to many shops and restaurants. Will definately be going back for a longer stay next year!!!!!

Spent 2 weeks at Folixenia Beach Hotel Rethmynon. Made very welcome right from the start. Wonderful views over the sea, waking up to the sound of the sea and waking upto it every morning was so lovely Eva and her family were very friendly and helpful. Eva did this whilst caring for her beautiful 4month old daughter Harriet who greeted us with big gummy smiles every morning. The breakfasts were so plentiful and varied, prepared by wonderful Eleni,never eaten breafasts like it ,home made savoury and sweet pies. Just a great place to stay, A lovely and tearful farewell, we just didn't want to leave Crete is a beautiful Island, wonderful people and food We will hopefully return Thankyou Eva and family
