Apollo Hotel I in Georgioupolis

We had a fantastic stay at Georgioupolis Beach Hotel and would happily return. We visited as a family on a half-board basis, and the food was a real highlight of our trip. Breakfast offered a good variety to start the day, while dinner in the rooftop restaurant was excellent with plenty of choice on the menu each evening. The service throughout the hotel was consistently friendly and welcoming, which made a big difference to our overall experience. We stayed in a poolside room, which was very convenient and comfortable. The hotel itself is clean and well maintained. There are lots of facilities to enjoy, including a good-sized swimming pool, a gym, and extras like a pool table, bike hire, a hot tub, and a sauna—so there’s always something to do. The location is another big plus. The hotel is right next to the beach and within easy walking distance of local restaurants and bars. It’s also only about a 7-minute drive to Lake Kournas, which is well worth a visit. Overall, a great hotel with excellent food, friendly staff, and a perfect location. Highly recommended!

From the moment we arrived at Georgioupolis Beach Hotel, I felt instantly at home. We had Dinner and drinks at the rooftop lounge which was amazing. The staff made us feel like family, offering to heat up the sauna ready for us. It has a beautiful outside heated pool with super comfy sun loungers (which was perfect for us in April) , a beautiful spa, rooftop jacuzzi, gym area and rooftop bar. The staff are so amazing!. I 100 percent recommend this hotel.

Apollo Hotel – Kavros, Crete

I spent a week at the cozy Apollo Hotel in Kavros, Crete, and I was very pleased with our stay. The hotel has a local 4-star rating and truly stands out for its warm atmosphere and excellent service. The owners are present on-site, always helpful and available whenever needed, which creates a real sense of comfort and hospitality.
The rooms are clean, and towels and bed linens are changed daily. My only suggestion would be to add door hangers, so guests can indicate whether they want their towels changed or not.
Another big plus was the smooth and stress-free late check-in — no problems at all. The hotel has a charming, family-like feel, perfect for anyone looking for a peaceful stay away from crowded tourist spots.

I can recommend this place and would happily return in the future!

Dinner was perfection — fresh local seafood, crisp wine, and a sunset that made the whole evening glow. The staff made us feel like family, greeting us with warmth and genuine joy. The GBH has a stunning pool area surrounded by palms and the sound of waves in the background, a beautiful spa, and the best gelato on the island. Every detail felt intentional, from the food to the service to the peaceful energy that lingers long after you leave. Went to this hotel in may and had a great stay
Rooms was decent size and nice and clean .
Pool was nice
But the main star of the whole holiday was the barman sergi he was really helpful organising trips for us and advice for getting buses around that was nice and easy with bus stop few minutes walk away , he was the nicest guy I’ve ever met and truly made our holiday he’s not shy with the raki either 🤣
I’d definitely recommend this hotel and would love to come back soon 5 stars

We enjoyed our stay at Georgioupolis Beach Hotel so much. Already planning our next stay, we can’t wait to come back! The heated pool in October is amazing, although we were lucky enough to get fantastic weather too. The food is delicious and great portion sizes. There’s everything you could want for a completely relaxing stay and even access to washing machines, we’ll pack lighter next time! The kids loved the pool, the pool table, the older one used the gym several times, the beach is only steps away and all the views are gorgeous. Everyone working at the hotel is so friendly and helpful, we felt so welcome. I highly recommend to anyone.

My family and I had an absolutely fantastic time here. It’s PERFECT for a relaxing family holiday or a winter getaway. The staff were amazing, really helpful and friendly. The location was lovely, situated in a small but lively village with lots of restaurant and cafe options and the hotel is literally across the road from the beach offering us the option of a pool day or a beach day! We’ll definitely come back 😁

Loved the pool. Staff were friendly and helpful, they all spoke English very well which made everything very easy. Right next to the beach so you can easily go from the pool to the beach and back. Room was cleaned everyday. They have a gym and saunas which were always available to us.

I would agree with the vast majority of previous reviews about this hotel. Staff are delightfully wonderful, location is fantastic, rooms are spotless (ours was a little on the small side), for a 2 week stay clothes storage slightly limited, especially for lengthy dresses (a few more wall hooks would help). However to charge 42 euros for room safe is daylight robbery. However, my one niggle is the food. Dry tuna, rubbery steaks, limited starters, congealed sauces, my advice is to stick to the traditional Cretan food. Service was great entertainment, several times we received other guests orders, but we really struggled with the Greek perception that if the kitchen has cooked the food then its put on your table even if your haven't finished your previous course. To their credit, they did quickly understand that the awkward couple don't like to rush their food. By the way, portions are enormous. Big shout out to Natasha, Penelope and the trinity of Maria's! Would I come here again? Absolutely, loved every minute!
