Arcus Suites in Kournas

We had a lovely time at Arcus Suites and would definitely return. We were very well looked after and the accommodation is comfortable and atmospheric. We really liked being there!

Great place to rest - the hotel and the village, very friendly and helpful staff. Quiet, lush green and great to spend time away from crowds. Noticeably cooler than on the coast in full sunshine (serious advantage from my point of view) as it sits in mountains.

Beautiful oasis in a searing hot day. The suite was just beautiful. Comfortable bed, fierce shower, huge fridge. The weather was particularly hot and so we stayed by the lovely pool. Luckily we were able to find something to eat at a local taverna, there are more places at the lower town so do check on opening before you go.

Excellent venue! Location in a nice little town in the mountains, beautifully renovated historical building, cosy place as there are a limited number of suites, the suites are of excellent comfort and well maintained and they fully deliver what the description and the pictures promise, finally a sympathetic and efficient manager who makes sure everything runs smoothly.

This is a beautiful place. Our "room" was a huge suite, beautiful and comfortable. The people are very helpful and friendly. The breakfasts are excellent. And the pool is a great relaxer. And the location! It's right in the middle of the loveliest part of Argyroupoli, yet is completely quiet at night.

My husband and I have different opinions. I loved it here, the breakfast was more than delicious, nice people! We were here at the end of October 2023 and stayed in the Ontis suite. This suite is very beautiful, but you first have to climb a staircase with high steps. So not suitable for older people or people with mobility problems. The house is very spacious, a bit dark but there is good lighting. The kitchen is good, with a nice refrigerator, microwave, sandwich maker, dishwasher, etc. only 1 big downside: there is a coffee machine from the 80s, no, then I say 'where is the modern Nespresso with capsules that every 5 star hotel has?' Nice welcome with sparkling wine, tea and filter coffee. We didn't use that old Krups coffee machine because we had no idea how to use it. A wonderful bath that makes bubbles. The bed is ok. We have not been in the swimming pool, which is a bit small. The village is small with a bar and a souvenir shop and a small supermarket. Further on there is a tavern, but it is more fun to take the car and eat in the “Springs area” with nice taverns and waterfalls. There is nothing to do in the evening, everything is deserted after 5:00 PM in October. No idea what it is like in high season. Take beautiful trips to the South where there are beautiful places to discover! Rethymnon is also nice!

Very beautiful residence. Superb welcome and more than generous breakfast. A welcome drink awaited us. Not easy to find because it is in a small alley that is not easily accessible by car. This was by far the most unique, amazing hotel we stayed at on the island of Crete. Upon arrival we were given fresh-squeezed lemonade made from their own lemon trees. The staff was so friendly! The building is over 500 years old, and nothing like I've ever seen before. The suite we got was huge, (living room, full kitchen, dining room, and bathroom downstairs and 2 bedrooms and a bathroom upstairs). We had our own private patio and a back door that led right to the pool. The town and the people who live there are all so great! Everything is within walking distance and is totally safe. If you're looking for a hotel that gives you that real Greek life feeling, this is your place! Arcus Suites is a hidden gem for sure... We WILL be back!

Yanis was a very friendly host who welcomed us with lots of information and suggested walks around the local area. The apartment was spacious and well equipped with stunning views in a mountainous location. There was a slight musty smell, and I feel ithe apartment would have benefited from more ventilation prior to our arrival. There was a comfortable, large king size bed, although we felt the bedding was quite dated. The terrace, where we were served a delicious Cretian breakfast, overlooked the beautiful swimming pool. Overall, we enjoyed our stay at Arcus Suites and would recommend this rustic hill top location.
