Kocka Szálló Hotel in Budapest

This place is a scam. Stay clear. I paid in advance and had to find a hotel in my first night because they wouldn’t let me in. You need some door code which was never sent to me. The number in my booking confirmation was non responsive. A nice neighbour let me into the building where I found two other numbers, one didn’t answer either, the other was answered by an extremely rude woman who barely spoke English and was unwilling to help. I’m waiting for a refund which most likely I will never get. Steer clear if this scam place.

Hands down, the worst accommodation experience of my life. ONLY BOOK HERE IF YOU ARE DESPERATE AND HAVE NO OTHER CHOICE.
This was a last-minute booking. Within five days, the host sent me 18 emails with contradicting check-in times. This excessive communication felt like harassment.
The host required me to download an app for online check-in, which I did at the airport before my flight. Despite informing the host of a three-hour delay, I didn’t receive the access codes. Forced to pay for emergency accommodation, I received the codes at 8 am the next day. ******* contacted the host for a refund of the first night's stay, which was refused despite their failure to provide the codes on time.
The ******* listing omits additional fees: 10 EUR for late check-in, 25 EUR cleaning fee, and 50 EUR late check-out fee. I refused to pay these undisclosed charges.
The apartment seemed clean at first, but the shower was grimy, and I found a cockroach on my first night. On the second night, a leak from the bathroom ceiling occurred. I informed the host via WhatsApp. She knocked on my door the next day, and despite asking her to wait five minutes, she persisted and angrily forced her way in.
The following day, the cleaning lady entered my room without permission to take a pillow while I was undressed. This was the second disturbance by staff. I would not book this apartment again due to:
- Unfriendly, unprofessional host (Esme)
- Poor communication
- Dirty facilities
- Cockroach infestation

They made it so difficult to stay there ,everything was extra ,when I read the other reviews I booked another room .25 to clean the room ,10 to book in late , forms to fill in , I thought the customer was king ! Terrible , really unhelpful

They don't answer to the phone! We have a vaby and sray outsider! We pay with card, and They don' t return us my money! We Don' recomand! Please choose another place! Smelt horrible! Please see the photos! we not recomand!!! They rake our money and we do not stay in the room! It is horror!

The worst hotel I've ever been in, unfriendly people. Had to wait outside for half an hour until the person who gave me the code to enter showed up and explained how it works. They talk out of thin air, don't answer calls, only answer with smileys and answer once every 10 minutes. Hotel rooms aren't cleaned unless you pay extra, and only when I arrived in the city did I get an email saying I had to pay an additional 50 euros for end-cleaning and city taxes, which I've never experienced before.
