Advantages: The hotel has a great location, a 5-10 minute walk from the train station, and there's a paid parking lot if you drive. The views are nice, with direct mountain and Lake Balaton views from the windows. The price is relatively reasonable for Hungary. The front desk staff are friendly, especially the younger ones who are very helpful and enthusiastic. My room type included breakfast and dinner; the food selection wasn't extensive, but the food was delicious and the ingredients were fresh. The indoor pool water was 32-35 degrees Celsius in winter, so it wasn't cold. I didn't experience any elevator issues, as many people mentioned; the elevators arrived quickly for me.

Disadvantages: The room was a bit small, and the table in front of the TV was also small, making it cramped with just a few items. There wasn't much other storage space, making it much worse than the Hunguest Hotel in Szeged and Eger. Secondly, I suspect the hotel might have unfairly treated my Ctrip booking. I arrived very early, almost just after 3 pm, but was assigned a room at the very end of the corridor. The heating was insufficient; the central air conditioning only reached a maximum of 24 degrees Celsius, which was a bit cold in winter.

Overall, it's 7.5/10. Prices are cheaper if you go during the off-season.

We spent 3 days here with my boyfriend. We were completely satisfied. Friendly reception staff, pleasant and delicious food. The building is beautiful on the inside. We will definitely visit more Hunguest hotels in the future; we were totally satisfied. I really don’t understand all the negative reviews.

A beautiful hotel by the lake with a private beach in walking distance. Great selection of food for breakfast and dinner. The Spa and sauna facilities were excellent and spotless clean. There were plenty of sun beds in the garden. The views from the higher floor windows were stunning of the lake and surrounding area and the rooftop bar was a delightful bonus to watch the sun setting.

The elevators are very slow especially during dinner and breakfast time. We got floor towels instead of normal big towels. the receptionist said they will send us towels but they didn't. So we didn't have any towels. The water was leaking from the shower. The hotel was beautiful but I wasn’t satisfied with any of the services.

The property and all the facilities were good but most of the reception staff were really rude to the point I had to ask if I had done anything wrong to one of the guys as he was speaking to me so badly. It nearly ruined the whole experience of the hotel as I was there to have a calm relaxing time and didn't feel comfortable in the hotel everytime I saw some of the staff. The woman at the cafe/bar was very nice though

Very good location (Balaton Lake is only 100 m; hotel has its own beach at the Lake); delicious food (every day different dishes!); rooms are big enough, new, comfortable, clean (good view to the Balaton); wellness is average (except saunas, which are varied, you can choose from 5 types); Air conditioning is not settable by yourself (sometimes it was too cold in the room). What is terrible: lifts (too few, not working well, too much waiting in breakfast/dinner time).

1. The location of the hotel is very good and convenient.

2. The cleanliness of the hotel was also good, and have no big complaints apart from that that cleaning ladies ignore the “do not disturb” door sign and enter no matter what. (See video)

3. The food in the restaurant was good with plenty of options. However, the pack lunches were very poor and didn’t cater for everyone’s needs.

4. The staff in the restaurant were not that interactive with the guests than expected. English is also lacking in the whole of the hotel.

5. Considering the reception staff are the face of the hotel, they were not that friendly, welcoming or professional. One young dark haired woman in particular.

6. The service/staff in the sky rose bar require more training. The wait time from entering the bar to being waited on was really long. Ones glass would be empty too long before one had to go to the bar and request service.

All in all, the hotel is nice with great views if you receive a room with a Balaton lake view (see pics).
