Description
Arctic Comfort Hotel in Reykjavik is a 3-star property built in 1995 and renovated in 2016. It offers a wide range of room types from Economy Single rooms to Superior and Deluxe rooms, including family and studio options. The hotel operates without a traditional reception desk; guests receive access codes before arrival to enter the building and their rooms. WiFi, a restaurant, a bar, and free parking are available on site. Rooms feature modern amenities like Nespresso coffee machines and some have kitchenettes. Heating is effective but can sometimes be too strong. Bathrooms are wet rooms, which may cause water to spill onto floors. Despite some maintenance and service inconsistencies, many guests find the beds exceptionally comfortable and appreciate the self-check-in process.
Location
The hotel is located in the Haaleiti district of Reykjavik at Sidumula 19, about 2 miles (3 kilometers) from the city center. Nautholsvik Geothermal Beach is approximately 2.9 kilometers away. The Reykjavik Domestic Airport (RKV) is only 3 kilometers from the hotel, making it convenient for travelers arriving by air. Nearby dining options include Tian Chinese Restaurant (349 meters) and BK Kjúklingur (366 meters), both well-reviewed. While the hotel is somewhat removed from the busiest city areas and situated near an industrial estate, supermarkets and restaurants are within walking distance.

Reviews
Arrived got in the halls are slum like. Got to room the main lights weren't working, cue call the number given for any issues, called 3 times before actually speaking to someone, they advised finding a staff room and taking lamps from there as there is no one on site!! Found lamps they were flat packed so had to build them and then separately find bulbs so an hour and a half after arriving finally some lights.
Day 2 came back to room to find no clean towels and no toilet paper, more phone calls and visit to store room still no toilet paper!! In the meantime some nutter running through the hall wanting to be let in his room as had Been locked out, finally a security guard turns up and sorts him out 2 hours later!! Finally we're let into another room to steal their toilet paper!! Next day still no clean towels apparently you have to call to get some!!
To call this place a hotel is a joke I certainly will not return and wouldn't recommend anyone go there!!!
By the way the funniest thing was when we called about the lights not working they asked for a picture!!! What of? Darkness!!!!
- NO Reception staff
- Codes we were given were wrong which means we could not enter into the hotel we had to use international roaming to call their call centre which was staffed by overseas people!!
- No lift in hotel which means we had to carry our heavy bags
- Dark and haunting corridor
- Rusty pillars in corridor and inside our rooms
- No Shower Screen which means water was spilling ever when having shower!
- Stinky smell when having Shower
- The basin was so small
- No bin inside room
- No storage space inside the room
- TV was not working
AVOID THIS HOTEL IF YOU CAN!!!
No staff present. Digital communications only.
Not close to city centre, but lots of restaurants nearby. Overall a pleasent stay.
