The hotel is located on a plate Space you can’t see anything surround you even the small town. So you have to carry your own food here and you can cook by yourself. All around you is the dark sky for endless, and you can use the hot pot and the sunna room for a rest. They don’t offer breakfast, but they will offer you free coffee and milk and biscuits.

I booked the wrong room initially, but the hotel changed it readily via email, and the service was excellent. They even have a shared hot tub and sauna! 👍 You can cook in the village house, but it's not as spacious as a guesthouse. The breakfast selection was very extensive!

The floor is warm, even though there are strong winds at night in the area, there is no one talking around. The sound of the wind is like natural white noise, and there are mini bar drinks, tea, and coffee included in the accommodation price. The service staff are very good, and the environment is very quiet except for natural factors. It is bright and clean, and the air is not cold at all

Everything was great about this place. The staff was very friendly and nice. The room was extremely clean with everything. The shower was wonderful with very hot water. The breakfast included was superb. And we got to see the Northern Lights.

The room was clean and tidy, with excellent soundproofing. The view from the window was beautiful, offering sunrise views. The breakfast was fantastic, plentiful and delicious, and parking was very convenient.

Place is clean and decent. For me and my husband, the bed was too soft and the pillows also too thin. Breakfast was basic but that's on.

The hotel has a contactless check-in system, no front desk, and the door is opened with a password, which is simple, fast, and efficient. Breakfast is a buffet breakfast, and you have to clean up the dishes yourself after eating. The room is clean, sanitary, and comfortable, nice 👍

Blind selection is similar to a hotel in China, with nice surrounding scenery.

By far the best place I’ve stayed in Iceland. After staying in six different locations along the ring road, this one exceeded all expectations. The location and views are stunning, and the farmhouse-style home has such a warm, cozy feeling. The décor inside really captures that rustic charm. I can’t wait to stay here again.

We didn't stay in the place. We just stop for lunch in the restaurant. Cute place with a convenient location if you need to have lunch in the ring road. The food was nice, the burger was great. The meat was ok, the portion is a little small for the price. The service is good and places is really pretty.

I have stayed at the hotel twice, went a couple of times to the restaurant and now I went to the new baths and dinner. Everything was so good, food excellent, service excellent and the baths so cozy. They seem to be still working on the bath facilities but quite obvious that they are ambitious in providing an memorable experience for their customers.

The food at the hotel's restaurant is excellent. Try the Lentil Steak. It was a new gastronomic experience, especially in a wonderful way. High protein with an exquisite taste. The lamb that I had was super tender and all in a great experience to take the significant other for a fantastic meal.

Stopped for dinner on my way from Reykjavik to Akureyri. Had the “Hraunsnef Burger” and it both filled my stomach and pleased my soul for the remaining trip. Highly recommended for the whole family ... the best bite on Highway #1 between Reykjavik and Akureyri.

We stayed one night in one of their cabins and it was perfect. The cabin was very cozy and in such a great location, just a 30 second walk to the beach. Would definitely stay here again. Host was very welcoming and ensured we had everything we needed.

Wow what an amazing place to stay. The location of The Castle was just perfect on the waterside with a welcoming hot tub overlooking the bay. We stayed in one of the “dolls house “ within the grounds and it was exactly what we needed after the drive to get there. It had everything we needed for our stay. A great place for a night or two on your way around Iceland. It would also work as a base for longer if that suited. We had one of the self contained wooden units which also had access to the house for breakfast and use of the other facilities. Our stay at The Castle Guesthouse was enjoyable thanks to its simple and cozy atmosphere. We stayed in a clean, comfortable cabin. Breakfast wasn’t included, and the kitchen was small – we had access to just a microwave, kettle, and toaster, which was enough for light snacks. arrived soaking wet and was happy about the warm shower and that the woman collecting the fees suggested to sleep in one of the unfinished huts instead of putting up my tent! this made everything much easier and it’s crazy how friendly she was. could even sleep until midday in there, having a lot of space and no tent that gets almost blown away by the wind, haha. they are building 3 cozy warm huts...

Clean showers (free to use), nice bathrooms and an outdoor sink for rinsing dishes. Also had a clean drinking water pump. Someone came around 8pm to each camper van and you were able to pay her with card or Apple Pay.

The property location was convenient to local sights and the rooms were spacious enough. Had the weather agreed with our visit, it would've been the perfect location for viewing the Northern Lights. We stayed here on our way to the west fjords. It was a quick overnight stay. We ate dinner at the hotel and the food was good. Breakfast was included. We took a nice walk around town in the evening and also in the morning. There’s a grocery store in town which is in walking distance from the hotel. We had a private bathroom.

Our stay at the Homestay was fair. The premises overall are lovely and nestled in a nice, quiet part of Borgarnes, though not too quiet with a few shops around. It is right on a nice path alongside the water, and the restaurant that is part of the establishment has lovely waterfront patio seating. We only used the Homestay, restaurant closed. But the Homestay is a nice and cozy place. Right at the oceanfront. Very easy check in and out! Some rooms have steep stairs.

Service was friendly. We really enjoyed the fish buffet. Atmosphere is nice and quiet with lovely view of the harbor. We had no reservation and only had wait about 10 minutes as a tour was coming. They have quaint attic waiting area.

We only had dinner here. The seafood soup is amazing but other dishes were a bit patchy. Generally the food was richer than we had expected. The location, right by the sea, is delightful as is the interior decor.

Anders and the staff were wonderful and accommodating and happy to share a very charming dry wit. The dinner for 9 of us was delicious after a long day of touring. We especially loved the Lamb Shank. Wow! As others have said, the view is amazing and worth the drive. We were fortunate to have a beautiful evening to walk the shore after dinner. Recommend for a tasty meal and some laughs!

Very good hotel for reasonable price. Good breakfast and facilities. Staff is very helpfull. I booked the hotel for the wrong date without cancelation posibility. I called the hotel and asked to change the date. Staff did it without any additional fee or questions. Not everybody will do it. Thanks a lot.

Stayed for a night here - was lucky to even get a room as I originally booked elsewhere as the price was much cheaper here. Was lucky enough to see the northern lights at the Stykkish harbour nearby and even from our room at the basement - no need to brave the cold for it! Lovely place in Stykkisholmur. We really liked it! It is in the middle of the town where you have supermarket and some restaurants. The owner (I guessed) who welcomed us was really kid and helpful. Our room was big and well cared with a nice paint. The bathroom was beautiful and comfortable. They offered breakfast, which was very decent with plenty of options in a cosy dinning room. I really enjoyed my stay at Ljosaland! I arrived later in the evening and got set up in my room. The room was one of 4 I think in a building with a common sitting area. Stayed at this hotel after two days in Westfjords. Room was comfortable. restaurant was excellent, we enjoyed dinner and a full breakfast the next morning. Hotel staff was courteous, friendly and helpful. Recommended.

For one - two nights it is good to stop there. Nice and welcomed young staff. Modest but good breakfast (in hotel price not included). The price is slightly expensive (as everything in Iceland) for what is offered. However, room was clean, shower and WC OK. In the room kettle + tea/coffee available. Wifi was fast and good working. We stayed for three nights at ‘Gil’ with Nialls and Krippa. They were friendly and attentive and were able to provide us Nialls’ delicious beef burgers whenever we asked…each meal was 3,000 Krona, excellent value. Each double room set-up has an area set aside give you coffee, kettle & microwave, cutlery & crockery. There is also a hairdryer. Free parking outside your room

The host are so nice and friendly. They are really taKking care on their guests and can give you good advices where to go in Iceland. The rooms are really cozy and clean. And the good thing is you can also eat there. I can really recommend this accomendation.

My friends and I loved the decorations of this place. It was cozy and comfy and felt like a home. The room we were in was spacious and had it's own bathroom. It overlooks the ocean and had nice views. The beds were soft and the blankets were cute (pink and flowery.)

We had the family room, it's very nice. View is gorgeous. The host is very kind and friendly, she took her time to come and greet us. We had a wonderful time, only it's too short! Come back for sure.

Unexpectedly amazing! Tried the fish of the day - cod - and we almost ate our fingers. Souce is very very tasty. And the colesaw 😍 We also got the soup bowl - with infinite refills. Very good deal :)
