Bakung Sari Resort and Spa in Kuta

This property needs major renovation. If you have a lot of luggage, it’s not easy to carry it—especially if your room is far from reception or located on the second floor. The bathroom is very substandard: it’s spacious but not clean, has leaks, and there is no shower curtain. Positive side is reasonable price and close to shops and beaches.

Shower had no hot water the night we arrived. Shower lever needs attention as does the hot water service. Room door stiff to open, needs shaving and both room door didn’t close unless locked from inside. Small things needing attention.Otherwise, love coming back to this hotel.

The Bakung Sari is an old historical hotel in Kuta. The property is very dated so many guests will not be happy but the cost is low so this is the trade off. My stay included breakfast which was uninspiring. This is a pity because a well designed breakfast is an easy (and low cost) way to satisfy hotel guests. As is normal in Bali, the local people and hotel staff are very obliging and super nice in spite of the limited resources.

This hotel has a main lobby area but also has a well established ‘Back Gate’ which brings you out to the Bakung Sari Street where you have a great choice of restaurants like Warung Jacks and Chef Bagus; both popular watering holes for visitors and local expats.

Bakung Sari Street also is the direct street to Kuta Beach about 30 minutes walk West with a great variety of local shops along the way.

This accomodation will suit any traveller. Situated at the older part of Kuta, it is an extremely amazing surprise and incredible value for money. No it’s not on the beach, but it is only a 2 minute walk through to the Main streets of Kuta and another 15 minutes to the beach, so it makes it a great day out to eat, go to the beach, eat some more or shop or get a massage then head back to the quietness of this hotel. 2 bottles of water is provided daily on request. The grounds are amazing. Like a rainforest with a large swimming pool. One site restaurant at value priced meals. Seamless checkin check out and only a short distance to the airport, which will cost about 60,000 rupee. Staff are amazingly friendly as you would expect. Highly recommended this way for those who don’t want to stay in a resort or want somewhere a little more quiet but still very walkable to the action of Kuta and Legian/Kuta beach. Loved it.

Beautiful place with a few years on it but very clean. Has a great pool area and is well located. Staff was always helpful and professional on all levels.

The hotel is nice and location is Good with convenient stores and eateries within nearby walking distance. The Kuta beach is just 15-20 minutes walk away and the hotel staff are very helpful and friendly.
