FAVIGNANA HOTEL Concept Holiday in Favignana

The property is definitely not a “resort” nor 4 stars as they claim. it lacks character or any real feel. There is no real reception. A small make shift room office. No hall or dining area nor breakfast area. just around the pool. For > 300 € a night, this was a bad stay. sadly we were there for 3 nights.

the apartments haven’t been maintained in a while. there was a terrible terrible lingering smell all throughout the apartment.
the kitchen had stuff/ appliances needed, but lacked basic cooking items such as salt, pepper, oil, coffee. you are expected to buy all yourself.
even the dish soap and sponge we had to ask for it in order to do the dishes.
the bathrooms are terrible. rusty faucets, rusty rails, overflowing shower area. (see pics below)

the “bar” at the pool opens some few hours in the morning and some few hours in the afternoon/ early evening. that’s it. with very limited drinks options.

the included in the price “breakfast” is a hot drink/coffee and a croissant of the sort. every day we tried to have breakfast (8 am to 10 am only at the said “resort”) the croissant were finished! the last day of our stay, we also tried to have an early one as we were leaving at 9:30, 8:45 am and still no croissant prepared.

we wanted to rent a scooter and bike. the recommendation from the hotel was really one of the worst and most expensive rental places on the island.

The good stuff

the young lady at the reception is super friendly and helpful and took our feedback nicely into consideration. the pool is well maintained. the bedrooms are clean. the apartment is of good size. the ACs worked wonderfully

I do not know how this place has so many positive reviews!!! We had a very bad experience, we did not enjoy our stay at all!
The apartment furnishing was mostly of poor quality, for example with some basic ikea products.
The kitchen lacked of salt, pepper, oil, napkins (for example).
The cleaning was not performed on a daily basis.
The bathroom needed some renovations.
The bed was uncomfortable and very very noisy.
The staff is friendly!!
The pool was very nice but some renovations are needed.
The position is about 15 minutes from the village port by walk.
