Mountain top luxury hotel with stunning views and relaxing atmosphere. Access by cable car which is included in the cost of the room. There is a parking garage which is also part of the room cost. On arrival at the top of the cable car landing you will be met by hotel staff who will take your luggage to your room. The lobby check in is very relaxed and you’ll receive a tour of the property. The rooms are comfortable and each has a balcony. The beds are comfortable and there is a shower and bath tub. There are robes and slippers for your use as the pool and saunas re a big part of the hotel. The pool and sauna are wonderful. There is an indoor/outdoor hot tub. The spa has plenty of options for massage, facials, etc. There are both dry and steam saunas. Each evening before dinner the hotel hosts a reception with prosecco, apple cider, and canapés. This is from 6:30 PM to 7:e30 PM. The restaurant, 1500 is very good, and a little pricey. The menu starts at 16 Euros for appetizers and main course are 30-50 Euros. There is an extensive wine list and Svetlana, the wine sommelier will be happy to help you pick out a wine, range from 35 Euros. Overall the food was very good. The dining room is very private and quiet. There are hiking trails from the hotel which includes a chair lift. The chairlift ticket is included in your room rate. The hiking from the top of the chair lift is extensive. We hiked about 30 minutes to a small pond with a wonderful gasthaus with great food and beer/wine. Breakfast is sensational with everything imaginable and then some. We enjoyed the fresh goat milk, fresh sliced prosciutto, eggs to order, prosecco, fruit, cheeses, breads, and on and on. Breakfast is included in the room cost. After two nights we didn’t want to leave. The whole stay is for you to slow down, enjoy the beautiful surroundings and slow down. We can’t wait to go back. This was our second trip.

perfect, but you need to like the mountain and not accessible with car, but only cable car

Just got back from a short stay at Vigilius Mountain Resort and it completely lived up to the hype. Taking the chair lift up to the hotel is such a cool experience, and the next one up to the hiking trails is incredibly serene — quiet, peaceful, and with some of the best views you’ll find anywhere. The food and wine were excellent, the staff were warm and attentive, and the whole place has this calm, design-driven atmosphere that feels both modern and timeless. The architecture and interiors are stunning — kind of like something straight out of Mad Men. Wish I’d stayed longer.

Absolutely great! Secluded reasonably small hotel on the mountain, great views, great amenities. Extremely quite and staff is super friendly. Worth the price

Wow. We came here for our honeymoon and were not disappointed. Everything about it was beautiful, thoughtful and tasteful. We found the service personable and courteous. The clientele were primarily German, Italian and (international) English speaking and the staff could switch effortlessly back and forth. I guess one of the unique cultural features of South Tyrol. Far and away what we most appreciated was the calm and tranquil setting, far up away from the banal noises of the city. Already I am missing being free from hearing the constant rumble of cars. The other guests were by and large also very respectful and quiet, though they do allow dogs which I’m not as ecstatic about (one was barking away one night which was pretty disruptive given the otherwise serene setting). We also appreciated the textile-free sauna and enjoyed a few massages and facials. There is only one sauna room but it is plenty big enough to share between 4-5 couples at a time (plus a small steam room). Plenty of room on the various sun decks. The views from the hotel were fantastic, though dependent on it being a clear day (it can get very foggy at times). The food was also excellent and, though expensive, not unfairly priced (for quality). Some of the staff seemed a bit new, but we really liked our servers. The breakfast buffet was enjoyable and both restaurants were superb too. However, I was kind of disappointed that the Ida Stubbe (Tyrolean fare) was not open after 18.00, which left the only dining option later on in the evening as the expensive Michelin restaurant, which we did not want every night (we actually brought takeaway pizza from the city instead - it was ok but it would have been nice to have a more affordable alternative on-site for those who are not on the half-board plan). The only other real downside (more of a double-edged sword) is being reliant on taking the gondola up. It did truthfully create minor stresses as a few times we were rushing back to make the lift time (they only run hourly in the evenings). That was the only real stressful aspect of an otherwise relaxing stay. On the other hand, of course the gondola is what gets you up far away from the cars. I’m not sure what the gondola economics are but maybe it could just run every 15-20 minutes, and skip the trip if there is no one waiting. As for parking there is free parking at the base but you have to send your license plate number ahead of time (new rule), and you have to get the gate code for the covered lot - easy enough. It is a bit of a game of Tetris parking your car down there if it is getting full, so maybe not for the inexperienced parkers (though, Italy in general is not for the inexperienced drivers). Lana is easily walkable from the foot of the gondola, though we found it to be a bit of a sleepy and not quite so interesting town (at least as far as wandering around goes). There are a few clothing shops, a bookstore and some restaurants and cafes, as well as an Aldi and Lidl. We

There are a few clothing shops, a bookstore and some restaurants and cafes. We did do some hiking around Vigiljoch, which was convenient and pleasant enough. There are also lots of fantastic hiking spots nearby near Meran (Texengruppe) and a bit further away in the Dolomites. Worth it if you’ve got a car and came for an active adventure. I’d say Vigilius caters both to the active hikers and to those just seeking rest and relaxation. It is a high-class treat but not pompous or ostentatious. By and large you are paying not for showy frills but rather for tranquility, quality and attention to detail. In our case we used Marriott points and found that to be a no-brainer. We are already looking forward to returning sometime, perhaps for a wedding anniversary :) Danke, Grazie, Vigilius!

I booked a stay at the vigilius because I needed to get away from the routine and I have to say it couldn't have gone better. The staff was very kind and helpful. The rooms were spacious and clean. The view was breathtaking. The hotel organized a yoga class, a tour in which the architecture of the structure was illustrated and an aperitif around the internal fireplace. It was truly a treat.

The list of negative experiences is so long that I'll be brief in expressing our disappointment. We booked two nights at this hotel, but since we have a child, I called the hotel before booking to get some information. During the calls, NO ONE told me it would be the weekend before the hotel closes for winter. ONLY AFTER paying the deposit did we receive an email informing us of this and asking guests to vacate the hotel by 3:00 PM on Sunday, a day on which there would be no business. The restaurant is poorly managed, with extremely long waits (40 minutes for a plate of pasta for the child), and unprofessional staff. The same table used for dinner was also used for breakfast, and it's a shame to notice the crumbs from the night before on the floor in the morning. Unacceptable! I requested laundry service three times before they deigned to collect the laundry from my room. The massage service was ridiculous: the welcome was cold, almost making you feel guilty for booking a €100 massage. Freezing cold cabins, blinding lights, and no background music: how sad. The pool water is very cold, and it remains unused. Since it was the weekend, the sommelier was away on vacation. During aperitifs, we asked for information on the food offered, and the waitress couldn't describe the dishes, saying, "I'm sorry, but we're all tired here." IT'S IMPOSSIBLE TO JUSTIFY SUCH AN ATTITUDE SINCE THE RATE PAID WAS FULL AND THE SERVICE I EXPECT MUST BE UP TO MEASURE, NOT POOR, BECAUSE THE STAFF FEEL LIKE THEY'RE ON HOLIDAY. The manager was helpful and asked for a list of complaints, discounting the massage, but honestly, we expected a larger discount given the serious shortcomings. Finally, the arrogance of the receptionist, who has evidently been trained to deal with (numerous) customer complaints. Just a few kilometers away there are REAL 5-star hotels that are worth taking inspiration from.

Super zen, amazing matteo thun architecture. Very good food and service but the worst cocktails we’ve ever had! The pool area gorgeous and the rooms fabulous with great views. Great base for hiking and mountain biking or in our case just chilling!

Great staff, beautiful food, location and architecture. I can’t fault it. Just an amazing place!
