Hotel has great amenities which are its location and breakfast, with a beautifully renovated restaurant , also the comfort for three adults in the family room, spa and a pool. And a car park also is a plus. As it always is then we met Alexander the “waiter”. I haven’t seen such rude person at this job in my whole entire life. He wasn’t capable to write the order down we had to repeat it over and over, then he brought totally different wine but the worst was his attitude!!! The manager made up for all the situation giving us a voucher and a great discount for the future. Even though one person may damage a good name of a place we recommend this place and we plan to return to it.

Nice hotel, but quite rude lady in the bar. Looks like she does not like her job

We had a fabulous week of skiing at the Residence Ambiez. Great location, family friendly, high flexibility and helpful staff make this an unquestionable five star pick for Madonna, provided you are not looking for uber-luxe.

The Skiing

You can legitimately call this hotel ski in ski out. A little rat run off the back of the 55 drops you out into the hotel complex and a short walk from the boot rooms. In the mornings the 55 can drop you down to the spinale lift or into town for a walk to the various lifts in Madonna itself (take the Spinale!). I've added some photos to show this.

It's also a short walk uphill to the much bigger groste lift which has a super convenient rental shop with good quality kit.

The Rooms

Clean modern and comfortable. Well sized apartment with lots of storage space. We were three and our 10 year old slept happily in the pull out bed. Our friends were 4 and their kids (10 and 12) slept well on the 2 pull out beds in their apartment. The kitchen is small and there is not a real oven so you are limited really to pots and pans. On the two nights we cooked ourselves, we found splitting cooking across the two apartment meant catering for 7 was doable.

The balcony is a bonus and views phenomenal. Road is a little noisy but we were skied out and slept through it mostly!

Restaurant and Bar

The restaurant is great - buffet breakfasts with plenty of food available and a good mix of continental and cooked, and of course all the pastry you can eat! We also booked dinner there one evening and although the menu is reasonably short, the food was great... my wife and I shared the tomahawk steak which was delicious.

Facilities

Parking and ski room are great. There is a drop off area opposite the hotel, then you get your car park key when you check in. Ski room lockers are well sized with boot warmer/dryers built in and lock using your room key.

Pool is well sized, but think about bringing your own towels. The spa is lovely too - we didn't use ourselves but our friends did, and loved the sauna and cold showers particularly.

Any pointers? Pay for a mid week clean and towel and linen change, worth it. Also they ration loo roll! Bit odd but the reception desk give you more if you ask.

First family ski holiday in Madonna and we loved it. I booked us a deluxe family room for 5. It was absolutely perfect with 3 teenagers. A double room
With its own bathroom for us parents and then a triple room with another bathroom and kitchen . Loads of room, comfy beds and a kitchen that had everything you needed . We ate in the restaurant once for breakfast and once for dinner, both times very nice. My son used the small gym everyday. The hotel is super close to 2 excellent bubbles that take you up quick. Huge boot room and you get your own locker for all your gear. Swimming pool nice but you have to pay for pool towels (not keen on this). Nice games room for kids with table tennis, table football . We loved going into Madonna in the evening for dinner but it was simply too cold and a little too far after a full days skiing for them to walk. So…. My husband drove to town every evening. All very easy and we got parked easily but not completely ideal as he had to watch what he drank. Service and hotel staff were friendly and polite throughout our stay. And I absolutely loved that I could order our fresh bread to go with our eggs every morning (order by 5.30pm
Night before and pick up from reception at 8am the following morning) Brilliant!!! Snow, food, lifts, Prosecco is all fantastic in Madonna. If you are bored of going to France and want a change - book this. We shall be coming back next year.

Honesty, I'd rather sleep on the street.. Rude staff! and its been said before in other reviews here, if your reading this read the other one star reviews. I'm sure the manager will reply to this review as per other reviews and say the staff can have bad days although there is a pattern and the leadership team of this hotel needs to have a refresh either way we will not be returning nor recommending..
Dinner is always booked out, and there is no room service. My family was told to walk to town in minus one degree weather with two young children... haha?
I ended up negotiating some food and it was a set menu for 165 euro each and tasted like dog food.
On that note in our room we had, Dogs barking non stop in the next room, Noise from down stairs and stomping and noise from upstairs room. I can hear the next door snore and cough..... The place smells like bad socks and the rooms are not serviced. Very disappointing for such a good location. Avoid like the plague.

Excellent hotel located right beside the main ski lift with ski hire facilities either in hotel or just beside the lift. The spa was also nice although my only criticism would be that the drinks and glasses in the Spa area were not maintained regularly enough so when we went there were no clean glasses or drinks left (minor detail).
Having said that the bar area and hotel in general was great. The staff on reception and in the bar could not have been more helpful....all in all we really enjoyed this hotel and the town...the location is really beautiful and its very Italian, I didn't hear an English speaking person all weekend 😀

In front of Ski lifts, comfortable rooms. Quiet nice Food. The best place in this price to spent winter in Madonna. Were Here about 7 times.

Price vs quality real good! Amazing localization. The hotel had some some renovation in last years - some rooms are better other ones aren’t still renovated. Very small parking slots, ski box in place.

This is a great hotel very close to the ski lifts. The swimming pool is nice too. Make sure to ask at the reception if you want to use the wellness or fitness rooms. Wifi isn't very fast during peak times and kicks the bucket when more than 25 people connect.

Nice place with comfortable apartaments and quite pleasant service. The best feature of this hotel is its location: in between ski slopes and within a walking distance to the city center.
