Hotel Conchiglia D'oro in Lido di Mondello

This hotel is located in a quiet street in Mondello, only 10 minutes walk from all beautiful beaches.
The lobby and the room have nostalgic charm but is well organized. The bed is genuinely comfortable, and everything you need is there. No frills, but it works perfectly.”
My room had a beautiful balcony with a beautiful view. I enjoyed a lot the pool, very relaxing place in a quiet and calm atmosphere.
What really stands out for me is the kindness and will to help of all the staff, especially Mrs Stefania and Mr Giacomo; they really are the kindest people ever.
I will definitely be back next time I’ll be in Mondello.

We wanted an authentic experience on our trip to Sicily and at the Conchiglia D’Oro that’s exactly what we got. Set in a quiet position about 15 minutes walk from Mondello beach the hotel is a lovely quiet retreat away from the hustle and bustle of Mondello Beach and of course the centre of Palermo. The staff here are friendly, welcoming and willing to accommodate any request we had during our stay. Our room was basic, spacious, comfortable beds with an excellent bathroom and a small balcony. It was cleaned to perfection every day and was exactly what we had hoped it would be. Breakfast was continental with a decent array of pastries, breakfast cakea/biscuits, cereals, bread rolls, scrambled eggs and a good coffee machine. Drinks from the bar are available for the large majority of the day and are allowed out by the love pool area. It didn’t feel like the hotel was full when we stayed which added to the overall chilled experience but even if full our experience would have been just as positive. Overall we throughly enjoyed our stay here and wanted to thank all of the great team at the hotel for making our anniversary week and my birthday a trip to remember! Worth noting that Palermo centre is about 15-20mins on a bus, we regularly caught the 806 bus from the stop at the bottom of the main road which is about a 10minute walk from the hotel towards Mondello beach. Buy bus tickets in advance on most tobacconists, there is a ticket booth on the main road down to the bus stop or I used Palermo Mobilita app to purchase my tickets. Either way don’t forget to validate your ticket when on the bus! ENJOY 😊

We loved our stay at the Hotel Conchiglia D'Oro, Mondello. The Superior Double room was clean and comfortable with a mini-refrigerator. Breakfast was really nice. The food had everything you needed for breakfast. The staff was so kind and helpful. We will stay here again and recommend it to friends. We stayed at this hotel in September and enjoyed our stay with a great and clean swimming pool.

The hotel is a diamond in the rough. Sicily is not geared for tourists but Hotel Conchiglia D'oro is fantastic. James, Rosy, Roberto, Stefania and Antonio could not have been more helpful and accommodating. It is an easy 15 minute walk to Mondello beach which is easily one of the best beaches in Europe. Our room with the balcony is lovely and a great bathroom / shower for Med Europe. Breakfast is solid too. Great place to stay near a great beach.

We stayed for a week and had a great time. Staff are very friendly, rooms are clean & maintained daily by the cleaners. There are good choices for breakfast and the swimming pool is pleasant and a decent size. The hotel is located in a quiet residential area and surrounded by incredible views of the mountains, whilst also only being a 10 minute walk from the beach & 15 from the square with great restaurants.

The hotel could use some renovation as some aspects look quite dated, but it’s nothing major.

Some staff don’t speak much English which at first can make communication difficult, so I would advise learning some basic Italian in advance to make it a bit easier for yourself.

Overall, highly recommended for a reasonable price point. Would definitely return!

I got super lucky in finding the HCD available at the last minute on a very busy holiday week in Mondello. It's a beautiful walk to the beach/lidos (Highly recc Lido Valdesi!), and piazza for more nightlife. The hotel has been around for a long time and it shows a bit, my room only had an orange stained glass window facing the courtyard so I had no idea what time of day it was, lol. Def ask for a balcony overlooking the pool and sunset if they have any available! But I wanted to make sure to leave a review bc the staff is what makes it feel like home. Thank you to the lovely concierge and my lovely waitress at dinner each night. So sorry I didn't get your name! She and the concierge team went out of their way to find me with a delicious cake on the morning of my birthday. Extra special moment, yes I cried!

Good place to recharge batteries
We had a pleasant stay with incredibly helpful staff. There was a vintage charm to the place, with a lovely pool area. It was easy to either sunbathe or sit under the pine trees and there was a tranquility to the stay. If you didn’t have a access to transport the seafront was a reasonable walk away, so some planning has important.

We had a wonderful stay at this charming and authentic hotel. The atmosphere is incredibly homey, with a quaint and original style that really sets it apart. Everything was spotless and comfortable, from the rooms to the common areas. The staff were exceptionally friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience feel warm and personal.

One of the highlights was the excellent local cuisine—delicious, fresh, and full of flavour. The swimming pool was also a pleasant surprise: clean, well-maintained, and never crowded. If you're looking for a place with character, comfort, and genuine hospitality, this is it. Highly recommended! :)
