Waldrast - Forestside Living in Siusi

The Waldrast Hotel is perfectly situated on the edge of the forest above Siusi — peaceful, convenient, and well maintained. Everything runs smoothly here: the rooms are spotless, functional, and comfortable, with balconies overlooking Suisi or the forest. The indoor–outdoor pool is a highlight, offering mountain views while you swim, and the small spa area is very pleasant. Breakfast is good, and the staff are friendly and helpful. A great choice for anyone looking for calm surroundings, good facilities, and excellent value in the Alpe di Siusi area.

The location of this hotel was excellent! We were in the Dolomites specifically to hike and we were able to easily walk to the cable car that brings you directly up to Alpe di Siusi and start hikes right from the hotel. The room was lovely with plenty of room to unpack our stuff. We had breakfast here each morning with the option of eggs or pancakes from the kitchen and we had an excellent dinner at the hotel one evening. Overall Waldrast Forestside Living is a great choice to base yourself for a trip to the Dolomite region, we would definitely stay again in the future!

This hotel was one of the best hotels we have ever stayed at. Front desk personnel were very helpful with advising us where to go for dinner, where to go on walks, and was generally very friendly and welcoming. Breakfast was very standard but you expect this with a continental serving. The room we had, which was a standard room, was massive with a large bed large shower room, sitting/lounge area and a balcony - we had a lot of room. The spa facilities were also unbelievable. With a sauna, steam, relaxation room, massage room, outdoor hot tub/hot pool/normal pool. There were a lot of options for the spa facilities - especially after a long days walk, perfect come back to. This hotel was slightly more expensive than the local four stars but it is completely worth it if your budget can stretch.

We stayed in a room that had no air con and it was baking hot as it faced west. Nowadays you really do need AC in the summer. If they get that installed it’ll be perfect!

Could not have asked for a better experience than this. We enjoyed every moment of our trip, it truly felt special and exciting. The spa was relaxing, the dinner was a fine dining experience that felt elevated and also wasn’t overly expensive. We felt like royalty staying here. The customer service was also exceptional, the front desk employees were all very welcoming and friendly. A very classy hotel in a beautiful part of Italy. We will be back.

We traveled from the US to experience the Dolomites. Our stay at Waldrast was exceptional, especially staff hospitality, food, and walkability to cable car and hiking trails. We also enjoyed the wellness center - sauna and steam room were highlights! Waldrast offered a clean, comfortable, and relaxing vacation and we would recommend it to couples and small groups if they prefer a quiet and peaceful ambiance in the mountains.

We had an incredible stay at the Waldrast! We stayed in a room with a beautiful view of the Schlern. Great service from the moment we arrived. Luxurious room with amazing bedding (one of the best I have ever experienced), Large bathroom with shower. Soft bathrobes and slippers are provided. During our stay in August, the mountain air was fresh and made the room comfortable. Breakfast was amazing - great buffet and we were able to order eggs a la carte. Dinner with our half board was a 4 course meal with a menu that changed daily. A salad buffet was also available, with excellent choices. The service in the restaurant was always attentive and exceptional.

Location location location ! Best location you can get , 5-7 min walk to cable car . Superb female (are we allowed to say this) receptionist, the men not so helpful. Lovely room but tricky for family of 4 with only one toilet and one shower . Rooms were actually too hot and after requesting fans these were given (but many plugs in room didn’t work). Great dinners if you’ve got no dietary preferences don’t expect them to care or cater for you - my preferences were entirely and absolutely ignored (being lactose intolerant ) despite writing it down and despite mentioning my allergy when giving orders for dinner which had to be made at breakfast!! So we felt a bit hard done by, having paid full rate but not being accommodated . Also rather annoying that you must pay €5 per bottle of sparking water that is plonked on your table and opened when the Dolomites water is free from the tap and amongst the best in the world Breakfast was extremely poor, not much variety . Eggs were served as if cooked by a 3 year old , messy , no garnish and just very little variety from buffet . No replenishment either . When items were finished that was that even if it was nowhere near end of breakfast . The hotel is otherwise relaxing and tranquil , nice to have the sauna . I’m sure it’s gorgeous in winter !
