This is an elegant, romantic family-run hotel located right in the middle of the little town of Scopello. IGNORE the reviews complaining about the parking being far away or the lack of an elevator, so ridiculous, these people should book Dubai as their next destination! This is a classic family run hotel consisting of old buildings being part of an old village, that is part of the amazing experience staying here! From the moment you check-in and throughout your stay the staff is very friendly and welcoming. You can park your car close to the hotel to offload your luggage and then park it at a private carpark within a few minutes walk. The grounds and the garden of this hotel are magnificent with it’s beautiful pool and amazing view over the bay. The garden and the outside hotel bar outside are a perfect destination to relax all day and have a very nice lunch overlooking the bay. Stay here during your stay in Scopello!

The location is excellent, but the facilities are quite dated. The service, unfortunately, did not meet the standards one would expect from a hotel in this price range. I also found it disappointing and inappropriate that guests are asked to pay €5 for beach towels and an additional fee for luggage storage after checkout, especially considering the already high room rates.

Overall, a great experience, though a few small details kept it from being a full 5-star rating.
This is a cozy boutique hotel, perfectly located with stunning views and a lovely pool area. We stayed in a triple room on the second floor, directly above the reception. Note: there’s no elevator — not an issue for us, but it could be for some.
The room wasn’t very well soundproofed; we could hear conversations from downstairs and from the adjacent room. Also, the air conditioning unit is positioned right next to the bed and blows directly onto it, which made it difficult to keep it running overnight. Thankfully, there’s a ceiling fan that worked well for us.
Free parking is definitely a plus — a real luxury in Sicily — though it does require a short walk.

Visited the restaurant only, great food in good size portions. The staff is amazing professional and cheerful at the same time, view takes the spectacle especially if there on the sunset hours. Would recommend to visit for dinner in the area.

La Tavernetta Hotel is truly a slice of paradise on the island of Sicily.
With its incredible and lush green gardens overlooking the mountains and the sea, right in the heart of Scopello, we spent only four nights here — but it was absolutely perfect.
The beautiful swimming pool with a backdrop of the sea, the excellent service, and the delicious breakfast on the panoramic terrace all made our stay unforgettable.
We highly recommend this place and are certain we’ll return.
A special thanks goes to the kind young Giorgia at the reception, who rescued us by organizing a transfer from a bus stop 40 km away, then greeted us with a warm smile and checked us in. She continued to assist us throughout our stay until the very moment we left.

Magnificent! Excellent place to relax and recharge! Very well cared, lovely staff and great service. Our dinner at the restaurant was delicious and the breakfast was rich with many options and a beautiful view to the sea and garden.

We loved our visit to La Tavernetta. It is located in a sublime location overlooking the sea. We enjoyed pool time every day and were assisted by wonderfully kind staff at the hotel, restaurant and beach bar throughout our stay. The food, especially the tuna, was delicious. We had a minor issue with our room which we addressed directly with the hotel and it did not take away from our enjoyment of the stay. Definitely recommend!

Having been visiting this family run hotel for 9 years after finding it by pure luck, I can honestly say it is getting better and better with each visit.
The location, the small resort with the amazingly located pool and pool bar, the atmosphere, and the caring, and hard working family and staff make what is an already great retreat, even better.

I was very disappointed in my stay.
The good: the room and bathroom were very clean and nice. The staff at the desk were very kind and welcoming. A short walk to the village. Peaceful.
The bad: I paid a lot of extra money to book a place with a pool and inclusive breakfast. The food at breakfast looked absolutely inedible and was a huge disappointment. I know the Italians really only do pastries and espresso for breakfast but after traveling for so long I really just wanted some scrambled eggs which looked green and old. In addition, i paid a lot of extra money to book the hotel because of their pool. It is a really beautiful spot. However it had not been vacumned for many days and was dirty. I didn’t see anyone testing the chlorine the whole time I was there. I didn’t dare get in it. Another huge disappointment. Will not visit again.
Updated to respond to hotel’s comment: Yes, I absolutely stayed at the hotel in September. Also, i did not pay an additional fee for the pool —it was included with the room. However, I could have booked a stay much more inexpensively at another establishment without breakfast or a pool. I tried to speak with the owners directly while I was at the hotel and got brushed off. Other reviews mention the uncleanliness of the pool and poor breakfast. Not just me. Improve these things and you could have a wonderful 4 star hotel.

Wonderful wonderful place. Myself and my girlfriend (at the start of the holiday) loved our stay here in September 2025.
I had planned to propose to her on our second night and Giorgia and the team were SO SO helpful. They gave amazing recommendations on restaurants and helped me plan the location for the proposal. As well as offering extra amenities the day after.
The pool was amazing rooms spacious and clean, local beaches and restaurants were fabulous. The location is brilliant.
We had a magical 8 day stay - and will certainly be coming back, Scopello is like something out of a movie, such a lovely place.

We loved our stay at Baglio dello Zingaro! Very comfortable, close to everything and parking is extremely convenient. The breakfast was 10/10 as well as the service. Everyone is so kind and helpful!

Met expectations however still room for improvements; breakfast is in lower range but still not bad. Pool area is beautiful with nice beds and sunscreen, some refreshments for sale, however it was rather noisy and water quality in pool seemed unpleasant

The structure is practically new, very clean and tidy.
All the staff are courteous and always available.
